Benn did just nick it. Anyhow didnt Hearn rig the result anyway, to get one over on Don King ?

From the nose bleed seats at Old Trafford I had it 8/4 Benn. On video a few days later I had it 7/5 Eubank. It was no robbery, but like you suggest a close fight, that could of gone either way. It was just that Benn was the hero and Eubank was the villain, thus most had a bias to Benn.

LOL, you did not watch the Collins fights then. Benn dogged them both and some of us have struggled to forget that. I can now watch him and to a point forgive him, but I struggle to suppress my anger when words like 'warrior' are thrown about...

A 'warrior' was an old man fighting 25lbs over his best weight, maybe six years past his pomp, giving the Cat hell, twice!

The Collins fights were horrible but he was in a bad place by then, shot as a boxer and getting there as a man. You can forgive him those fights.
    Bang on about Eubank though

Eubank was unreal against Thompson. Rewatched the first fight the other week and just sat there stunned by him. Coming off the back of a defeat, jumping a weight class to fight a hard hitting guy way bigger then him. Madness but Eubank embraced madness and he was the EVT winner that night.

Great fight, One of my favorites from childhood..

bit harsh how any man can not call benn a warrior, weird really, benn was shot to **** and ****ed in the head by the time of collins,by collins own addmition he got benn at the right time.
And not one person on here would not call eubank a warrior, although a bit of a dick(although no where near as much as his useless son) he was by and far a warrior up until his last fighting days:bart

Nigel was ruined by the McLellan fight. The fact he went to the well and it was dry, doesn't make him any less of a warrior.

Chris if he had not injured Watson would have gone so much further , his ko ratio was non existent after that. If he hurt someone he posed, because he couldn't mentally pour it on anymore.

Benn is my favourite ever fighter, he is the reason I became a boxing fan, to knock him would be criminal.

yup, mine too, although he didnt get me into boxing,it was before benn.

but his mentality and style is what boxing is all about to me,kill or be killed(metaphorically speaking of coarse :smooch)
he just touched me in the right spot :hey

how anyone can call him a ***** or coward is way out and should know better:nono:fire

You are saying that with 15 years of hindsight. Benn did dog them two fights, and a lot of people lost a lot of faith in him. 15 years on, as I said, that can be forgiven as, as has been shown he had one hell of a career.

But it would be very wrong to sugar coat Benn's career. That would cheapen the man's place in boxing history. Benn was a complicated case, and that was in part why he attracted so many fans. There was substance to his career, but there were also lows to go with the highs, and it did not get much lower than the Collins bouts.
