Benn beat Gerald by staying off center a lot with his head movement while coming in while Jackson was more upright and got punished, if both fighters used these tactics against each other around this time how would it come out because don`t forget Benn`s punches wouldn`t have the same effect of Jackson as Gerald`s did and Jackson had quick hands he just couldn`t take G-man`s punch, I feel it`s an interesting fantasy fight.
It would be a good fight but I’d fancy Benn because of his movement...he beat better fighters than Jackson imo.
Benn. Whilst he would definitely be hit and hurt I think Benns resilience would get him through in an early firefight.
Jackson was not a super-middle. If anything he was a small middleweight, and was on the slide by 1993. Benn wasn't huge at 168, but he would have a noticeable size advantage against Jackson at the weight, as well as being fresher and closer to his prime. Also in Benn's favour is that Newton's 5th Law of pugilistic shootouts didn't seem to apply to him. On paper he loses a wild brawl to McClellan (bigger puncher, better chin) and probably Barkley as well (more durable, physically stronger). However, Benn found a way to win those fights. To state "Julian Jackson has a puncher's chance" would probably still be a valid point if he was fighting a heavyweight, but I think the odds are against him in this one. Even if the expected war doesn't materialise and it's more of a strategic fight (which is possible given the underrated boxing ability of both), I still think Benn would put on too much educated pressure to win a decision or stop Jackson late. If the fight takes place at 160 in 1990, I think the odds are more in Jackson's favour, notwithstanding the points made above.
No, he didn’t take the test as he had convenient funny turn after the fight on the way to be tested. It’s more or less an open secret is it not? That is to anyone who isn’t a benn fanboy.
Oh right, so Benn with his fractured cheek, fractured ribs and when scanned shadow on the brain.. faked all that, that was huge conspiracy involving Dr's and hospitals just to get Benn away from a drugs test? Was McClellan tested? Did they draw blood and test him? He was beaten in to a coma but didn't fall over so can we say McClellan was obviously on some kind of PED? McClellan ended up in a coma, it was a brutal fight, to suggest Benn had a "convenient funny turn" is so off the mark and to be honest complete cobblers. Benn was exhausted, beaten up, damaged and collapsed, fortunately for Benn he wasn't permanently damaged like McClellan. To say Benn was dirty with no evidence whatsoever and based on your opinion is bang out of order.
Any version of Benn pre 1996 KO's Jackson early and brutally. The way to beat Benn was with clever boxing and The Hawk doesn't not have that ability, don't care how much punch power a fighter has if you go to war with Nigel you lose unless you have an absolutely iron chin and elite inside fighting.
