Kessler is definitely higher than Toney or Jones based purely on resume though, and he could be higher than Collins aswell.

The Roy Jones Jr who beat Paz was as close to the perfect boxing machine that I've ever seen in my life. If I had to pick any boxer in history physically and have them be put in the dictionary, it would be Roy Jones Jr prime against Pazienza.

That Roy Jones was so good you could go an entire round and not hit him, but he'd hit you with practically every punch at will, and clown you while he does it.

Benn would have been knocked out. Roy Jones was literally untouchable.

Thornton on Eubank, Toney and Jones:

Thank you for noticing my career and writing to me. I thought Eubanks was a good fighter but not a great fighter by any means. I, as did many others including the reporters thought I won that fight with him. I can remember one of the judges being asked how he could score the 12th round of the fight for Eubanks when he actually turned his back at one point and ran. The judge responded by saying that was good defense. I had always heard about those kinds of decisions happening on foreign soil, but then I experienced it first hand. Having fought both of those guys back to back, I would say James was slicker and more rounded than Chris and he hit me harder than Eubanks did. The problem I had with Eubanks was he had the fastest hands I came up against in my entire career start to finish and he could get away with running away. As for Roy Jones Jnr, you have to remember I was at the end of my career with brittle bones and could not punch like I used to. I didn't take hardly any of those punches he threw at me when the referee stopped the fight and couldn't even feel any of them. Thanks.

    Tony

I thought Eubank boxed Thornton a bit better than Toney did. All 12 rounds of Toney/Thornton were narrow - Eubank sweeped the first four and 10th widely and also hurt Thornton far more at the end of 9th than Toney could at any point.

No not yet, one more good win will put him above though.

Actually if Kessler would make it on the list he'd definitely be the weakest H2H.

Would love to have seen Toney fight Jones at Toney's best, with Toney jabbing his way in and going to the body and following all his slips with counter rights.

Jones would have made Benn look silly and he'd have got 0 credit for doing so then people would accuse him of picking on Benn and avoiding Michalczewski.

Michalczewski was never a challenge to Jones.

At least Benn had a decent shot.

    Michalczewski? What could he do?

Interesting post. Eubank does have a great SMW resume though I think Calzaghes is greater, I also think M Kessler has a better resume than Froch and that resume wise Ottke should be above Froch with some of his victories given or not (resumes), still interesting list
