I'm surprised by that, given how Nigel has changed his life.

Benn was a animal - he just had that heart and agression in him.

Brings back alot of exciting memorys thinking of Benn fights.

Given that I don't really care too much about 'boxing sons' or whatnot, this was a quality read :good

    This bit in particular

The McClenan fight is one of the best I've ever seen and I didn't even see that one live. There's only a few fights I've seen that I didn't see live which I didn't see live that are so good. I hate seeing fighters like Benn and Tyson feel bad about themselves after retirement. A lot of boxers are drawn to this sport because they have natural aggression and as well because they get no respect for trying to be normal.
Some of them may just be poor when they get into it, have abusive and neglectful parents and as a result find it hard to settle in to normal society or get bullied.
Of course this rule doesn't apply to all of them and many of the ones who it does apply to may have succeeded anyway but for the ones it does apply to boxing is the gel that holds their life together and can be hard to leave behind.

P.s I'd just like to say that these 'thugish animals' aren't half as bad as your average member of society. Their problem is usually that they are TOO kind and TOO thoughful that they naturally have to explode in a fit of rage because they are angry at being disrespected. Human Beings are a very selfish race and things like boxing are a way for the little man who always gets trodden on to have his praise. Look at the way all of the media scum used used to bait Mike Tyson. That's bullying some one out of jelousy as far as I'm concerned although for poor Mike he had no one to really trust and fall back on for most of the time while he was a young man. Things like bullying and pier pressure still strogly affect people after they leave school even if people pretend they don't and something should be done about scum bags who try and drag athletes like Mike down.

Great read anyway. I can't wait to see Benn and Eubank jr in action.

''Doug DeWitt fight in 1990 in Atlantic City. DeWitt walked over to me in the ring and said, 'You're going down.' I replied, 'I might be going down, but you're STAYING down!''

    Love this quote:D
