How would Benn, Watson, Eubank, Nunn, Kalambay, Graham, Jackson and McCallum as they were in 1990 have fared against today`s top 160 contenders and champs? I feel that year was overated in terms of how good the middleweight division was.

Really bloody well. GGG & Canelo would be tough fights for all of them though.

They're good fighters, they'd probably do well, especially in their prime versions. The MW division right now is in a transitional phase with GGG on the way out and Canelo probably going to move up. It leaves Charlo, SD and Jacobs as the probable top dogs.

They'd have a significant impact on the recent/current Middleweight division and dominate the Ring Top-10.

Jacobs, Golovkin and Canelo are not really in the same league as McCallum - and the others would have been considerably more challenging than the rather nondescript Middleweights of the previous decade to present day.

Canelo might well have avoided 160, because Golovkin is not the superstar in this scenario, and Jacobs is probably picking up more losses than wins amongst this crowd.

The fact that Canelo and GGG both boast very good chins does bode well for them As well. I understand the argument against them being on these guys levels. Lack of competitive fights at the weight against great fighters, but I see them both beating Benn, he just simply hadn’t matured at a fighter at that point.

Watson of the Eubank rematch at super middleweight is a scary prospect. Guys like Smith, Plant, Benavidez, Saunders and Ryder wouldn't know what's happening.

GGG in 2020 is somewhat a mystery we dont know what is left.Based on what i suspect...he beats all the 1990 class...canelo too...

Guys like charlo,sd,and jacobs are not worthy of discussion vs nunn,McCallum or kalambay

Canelo v Benn would have been a huge draw in the UK.

Watson that night was a relentless machine a pressure fighter with a touch of counterpunching class...id see him stopping blowhard saunders...but id agree with you...there simply isnt the evidence to suggest he was anything special
