GGG and Mayweather were the two best boxers Canelo has faced right?

He lost to both so what does that tell you?

Cotto was a jr.welterweight- that was his most effective weight. Yet he fought Canelo at MIDDLEWEIGHT.

You picked KHAN to support your theory that Canelo is a PUNCHER? Khan? How many times has he been CRUSHED?
KIRKLAND? The one who got KNOCKED out by ISIHIDA in ONE ROUND????
Angulo????? The one that LARA stopped? And that was punishment sustained for awhile before Canelo stopped him.
Freaking Cintron?????? Antonio took his soul TWICE.

Wow. Oh my god that was toooo funny.
What a puncher Canelo is. Mosley who went the distance with him and not once was staggered was a LIGHTWEIGHT who was almost Forty years old.
Cotto was TWENTY pounds about his best weight did Canelo drop him or stagger him?

My god what a feared puncher Canelo is.
Oh and for the record you think GGG gave problems to Canelo with that jab? Imagine someone with 5 more inches to his jab(Monzon).
15 rounds Canelo gets battered and stopped by Monzon. 12 he might run enough to survive to see the dostance.

Tell me again about how great Briscoe is based on the fact that he fought to a Draw with the decayed corpse of Welterweight Emile Griffith.

He went 24 rounds with Golovkin, beat Jacobs, LHW Kovalev, and much bigger Callum yet he’s not great? LOL cope, your favorite fighters are ****-poor compared to him

Canelo isn't a great fighter, there's too much cheating go on. But he is much better than Briscoe.

Thank you. I don't hate Canelo but he is a result of a very well managed boxer that has connections.
He's a cssh cow who makes people money.
Sure he has skills but he isn't elite.
Keep hearing about GGG this and that
Fact of the matter if not for bad judging Canelo would have LOST. End of story.

Great or not, he’s much better than Briscoe, both in skills/ability and especially resume. And history will agree with me.

Great enough to hold one of the greatest middleweight champions EVER(some argue the best middleweight champion EVER) to a draw.
Great enough to ROCK Monzon to his heels during their bout.
Better then- yes I faced an older Mayweather and got SPANKED the entire bout or oh I beat GGG but EVERYONE knows different don't they?

Is that much worse than being absolutely schooled by a natural superfeather/ lightweight, whom was beyond his prime and his best fighting weight. A fight Canelo may have won a round.

Canelo was pre-prime in terms of both weight and age/experience and Floyd was 100 levels above Monzon

Respect you and your insights, but totally disagree with this one.

Don't worry, everyone does. Fine with that, though. If he tears up 168 and makes himself a nice reign there, he'll be legitimately great IMO. Right now, there's just too many astrix's surrounding his best wins IMO.

100 levels above? Don't think so. Jose Napoles is considered to be at the very least top 5 welter of ALLTIME. Moved up to face Monzon and got MASSACRED. But Mayweather is 100 times better???

Yes. It’s much, much, MUCH worse. Mayweather never lost before or after and was still considered the best pound for pound fighter in the world before and after their fight.

Griffith lost his fight before Briscoe, and his fight after Briscoe. In fact, he was 6-7-1 in his previous 14 fights leading up to their draw. 3-4 in the 7 fights he had after. He had a losing record for 3 and a half years prior to that bout. And he had a losing record during the final year he had left afterwards. Before finally hanging the gloves up after 19 years.

During that entire stretch he only had one notable win. The opponent? Why, Bennie Briscoe of course! In their first fight where the 36 year old Griffith boxed circles around him!

    I’m having fun.

From 1970 to 1976 Briscoe and Griffith had almost 30 pro fights. From 2014-
Is that a reflection of Mayweather' s greatness as a fighter, or his greatness on realizing by film study Canelo isn't very special? And the risk involved fighting Canelo was worth taking.
One thing Canelo did learn from Mayweather is to play the smoke and mirrors game.
He is doing that very well now.
