Briscoe stops him. Lemieux was usually done by mid rounds, and, Briscoe is too smart and too tough to get taken out early.

This is honestly one of those that the day-before weigh-in makes moot to me.

Same-day weigh-in, Lemieux probably faints on his way to the ring. If he gets that far, he’s weak as a kitten (weaker than a Kitten Hayward) and Bennie blasts him out.

Day-before weigh-in, Bennie’s probably 163 in the ring and Lemieux is 180 and bangs Bennie out of the ring.

This seems like an eventual beat down to me. They are both fierce punchers but, with regard to skill level, Bennie seems a level or two above Lemieux. I will go with Briscoe by late round stoppage based on cumulative damage rather than a one or two punch knockout,

What the ****? People think Lemieux would go the distance with Briscoe? Even that's a stretch in my opinion.

I watched most of Lemieux's career live and vividly remember the Rubio affair. Rubio hung tough, took Lemmy's best and rallied to stop him. I don't know in what world Briscoe isn't a better fighter than Marco Antonio Rubio, but here we are...

I have to concur with Russel. Which quality fighter did Lemieux beat? Curtis Stevens, Gabriel Rosado (in which he struggled), weak chinned Fernando Guerrero or Hassan N´Dam. They cannot compare to beating future Light Heavyweight champs Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and Vicente Rondon, drawing with Carlos Monzon in Argentina+beating top contenders like Tony Mundine, Stanley Hayward, Eugene Hart as well as giving brilliant Monzon a tough 15 round fight and a 3 tough fights with the underrated Rodrigo Valdes who would have chewed up and spat out Lemieux within 5 with ease.

Different class, Briscoe would batter him and wear him down a little like he did to Tony Mundine (Mundine could really punch, became a decent Light heavy and won the Australian Heavyweight crown too)

Lemieux has a higher KO % than Briscoe and had enough power for the iron-chinned Golovkin to fight the most defensively responsible fight of his career. If you're in the opposite corner to GGG and you're the bigger puncher then I think that's a good enough qualification for being a great puncher. He KOed the teak-tough Gabe Rosado, dropped and battered Hassan N'Dam, and he won KO of the year against Stevens in one of the most frightening knockouts I've ever seen. If Lemieux was a bum could you even imagine the type of things a guy like Bennie Briscoe would get called today? People say that David Benavidez is a face-first limited brawler with barely any skill, I'm certain Briscoe wouldn't be lucky enough to receive such high praise for his limited knowledge of the sweet science.

Benny Briscoe by ko. There's no conceivable way David outboxes him with those little arms, and he has even less chance at stopping Briscoe. David could be outboxed and pressured into submission (and actually was by lesser fighters). And his power isn't gonna dissuade Briscoe, how many other fighters had significant power and couldn't dent him. Hell, an older version of this man had Hagler (prime Hagler) on the backfoot

I don't see the scenario where David outboxes him, as David simply wasn't an elite "boxer". I don't see David making it to the final bell.
