Too close to call. OK, Hank wins 2/3 from Briscoe...all fights going the distance. "Hank was a murderous punching middleweight with an aggressive style. In the late 1950s and early 1960s he was considered pound for pound one of the hardest punchers in boxing. He was always moving forward with his right hand cocked and ready to explode, and his left hand held below his waist ready to counter. He created an air of tension and excitement whenever he entered a ring. He fought with the cold cockiness of a man who knew exactly what he could do." Yea I read that review of him and it's interesting. Watching film of them both I'm gonna take Briscoe. Both guys hit very hard of course but I think unlike what one of the article stated that it's Briscoe who was busier and I think he sets a faster pace than Hank would like. I'm going Briscoe Close decision in a barn burner.
I keep going back and forth on this one. It could go either way. Itd be a great great phone booth war.
I honestly think it's as close a match as can be made, I can very well see them splitting three fights right down the middle if they were to have a trilogy... 1 win a piece and a draw.
Briscoe by Decision. Bad Bennie consistently fought a better level of opposition at 160, giving him the edge over Hank, in my opinion.
I am a bit biased as I loved Bad Bennie as a kid but I reckon he just edges it at 160 due to his incredibly high work rate. Henry Hank's ability to slip a jab was just superb by the way. I really dug that little video Mr Ungurean. Cheers.
Thanku for the input. I've been a Bennie fan forever and started watching some of Hanks stuff a little while ago. Became an instant fan.
Just watched Hank vs Tiger. Tiger pitched a shutout in an absolutely outstanding performance but Hank stood tough the whole way and made a fight of it.
