This would be a battle of two of the biggest baddest, Baldest contenders to never win a world championship. At a fictional 168 pounds since it pits a 160 & a 175 pound fighter. 12 rounds.
Briscoe by a hair. Seriously though I think Bennie has too much experience for Scott, even though he had decent skills and great stamina. Briscoe would work the body early on to slow Scott down for the left-hooks and overhand rights that would be coming his way circa Rd7. Scott would know doubt tag Bennie but doubt whether he could seriously hurt him. Would be a war of attrition though.
I pick scott to win this fight since briscoe was proven to be inconsistent and scott had a solid resume for a guy with less than 30 fights. He also naturally bigger.
Brisco was a better fighter. Look what happened to Scott when he fought pressure fighters. Braxton & Martin. He could only fight going forward. Brisco would have had something to say about that.
James Scott wins a landslide decision over Bennie Briscoe.Bennie will find out he's bitten more than he can chew with James.
Scott was a rather good sized 175 with good muscle tone and strength........ Scott probably edges Briscoe on size and strength....... Scott is my choice...... No freakin' way Scott would drop to 160........ Nope..... MR.BILL
At 175 Scott too big for BB... 168, not sure Scott could get down to this weight? At 168 Scott may suffer the same difficulties Dawson recently experienced against Ward... P4P, Bennie no question...
With little else to do at Rahway, i understand James spent most of his time training, doing a phenomenal amount of Sit-ups and Press ups in his cell, i doubt he could get anywhere near 168lb, and if somehow he could he would be as weak as a kitten. Both got past Eddie Gregory, and Eddies opinion of their respective merits would be interesting indeed.
The pretty negative range game Scott put on against Qawi would be enough to win a 10 or 12 round decision against Briscoe IMO. Scott was a big light heavyweight.
At that time, Scott was known to be a workout monster, obviously because of his circumstances. He was a big, ripped lightheavyweight, and I simply can't see him getting down to 168. He's too big for the tough Briscoe. Scott decision.
Very fit and strong LW with incredible stamina. One can only imagine what Scott would have been like outside the prison walls. Size is the difference in this match-up. Anyone know where Scott is these days? I heard after his release he moved to Las Vegas, but that's the only thing I know. I hope he's doing well and kept his nose clean. He has to be in his mid-60s now.
It all depends on how Scott would handle going down in weight. If he did handle it Bennie's assets would not avail him against Scott.
