2 middleweight contenders known for their come forward aggressive style and having challenged Marvin Hagler. No doubt an exciting brutal affair this would be but who ends up coming out on top here?

This would be a DAMN good fight. I think that Briscoe should take it at his peak, though Martillo won't make it easy for him.

    Briscoe.

I like Roldan. He was an awkwardly effective, power-punching offensive force, however, he could be discouraged over the second half of the fight if you had enough tools/toughness to weather the storm.

briscoe is the tougher of the two one-dimensional bulls; at his best his offensive ouput is clean and hard hitting enough (particularly that jab as a reliable pointscorer on the way in) to discourage Roldan and take charge over the second half, unlike slopfest fighters like Vito or Hamsho.

Aye I don't think you're wrong that Roldan could have his spirit dampened deeper in a fight Mante.

Good to see you dropping in still every now and again, I thought you'd retired.

I tend to think that Briscoe wouldn't be the best opponent in general for any fighter with questionable willpower tbh. A bit less so over ten rounds etc and if they were serviceable on the back foot, but over 12 or 15 with something to fight for, not a nice prospect especially. Too much a combination of chin, methodical heavy handedness, a good jab, engine and forward momentum even if it was one paced.

Roldan wins because he had the better defens. With his unpredictable non stop attack, he would throw Briscoe off his rhythm and score an easy win.
