    It might not have been a robbery.There were quite a few sources that thought Griffith deserved the rematch and said it was a robbery as well for instance.

    Could just have been a close debatable fight.

    good point there

    to make a fair accurate conclusion we would need alot of sources

    althought i thought Monzon beat Griffith it was a close fight

    Briscoe was my man but Nino underated. He was a playboy and did not always come into the ring in top shape but Nino had talent. I see a tough UD or SD for Nino with some scary moments but Nino could box and punch

    I tend to agree. There is no douting Nino's talent. Lets remember it was Nino Benvanuti not Cassius Clay who won the Van Barker cup as the best boxer at the 1960 Olympics.

    Nino had a great jab, good movement, some slick defensive ability, had a capable boxing brain, and some pop in his punchers as he proved when he knocked out Luis Manuel Rodriguez cold in 1969, with a single left hook.

    Six of his seven losses also came after the age of 30.......

    Same here.


    He also was outboxed twice by a fading Luis Rodriguez and also by an absolutely ancient Emile Griffith; and he was outboxed three times by Rodrgo Valdes (twice with the title on the line), a less skilled/classy boxer than Benvenuti.

    nino always struggled with guys who were strong and had a good chin, bennie brisco is all wrong for him i think he stops nino late

    He struggled, but seldom lost; whereas Briscoe was beaten often and decisively by classy boxers.
