I would go with Pavlik by UD. Bad Bennie was one tough hombre and I don't see Pavlik knocking him out but I do believe he would win the fight.
I really like Pavlik in today's scene...He is what boxing needs...and I'm a fan of his fighting and his attitude. In a fight against Philly's 'Bad Bennie' however.... Briscoe is a proven, tough, hard man...IMO, he would be too much for Pavlik. Bennie would come right to Pavlik in his methodical way...always coming forward...To this point, Pavlik has never met anyone on a par with Briscoe in regards to toughness, and perhaps power as well. I feel given Pavlik's mindset to slug a little too much at times, would play right into the fight in which Briscoe excelled.(Hagler did not engage Briscoe for a reason)Briscoe walks through everything Pavlik throws at him, and gradually grinds him down...I like Briscoe by 12 round TKO (considering Pavlik at this point in time)
Pavlik;I know Briscoe had a badass rep,but the one time I saw him was against Rodrigo Valdez,who stopped him.Briscoe looked like he could hit-but was slow and pretty wooden.
I love Briscoe, and like pavlik....could be interesting. Briscoe's power gives him a chance to take Kelly out early or late...his chin gives him a chance to stay all 12-15 rds. Philly boy or not..I would still take pavlik 4 X's out of 5 (probably decisions not KO's)...giving briscoe a chance, but think pavlik is to good here!
