I know we have very little footage of him, but I just rewatched it and damn, Benny was awesome fighter. Every move he made was on purpose and his footwork was perfect. Such a versatile fighter and he backed it up with accomplishements. Do you think that his skillset (not P4P greatness which is widely known) is underrated compared to other, younger boxers?
I like the way you present this tribute. I think people overdo all these P4P or head-to-head comparisons. It's all a waste of time. Why not enjoy all the great fighters from earlier eras for what they actually accomplished? Why don't boxing fans spend more time putting in the work to educate themselves about the context of the times and imagine all the obstacles those great fighters had to overcome to accomplish what they did? This type of analysis is more important to understanding the sport than comparisons between fighters who campaigned 20, 30, 40, and 50 years or more apart. And another thing, a person should do their own homework rather than expect other people to answer some of the dumb-ass questions which appear on this forum.
