I always thought in my head Lynch was a precise boxer-puncher with fast hands and feet, but a comment by Sweet Pea made me go and review my footage of him. He wasnt that much like I remembered him.

He seems to have an odd style, he jumps in with his shots and jumpsback out using his speed, aggresion and accuracy. His shots look fairly compact and precise, especially his right hand and he has a pretty decent jab, but apart from that he seems to be a savant, as Stonehands would say.

Me and Flea were speaking the other day and he thought possibly Lynch is similar to Harry Greb. Now I am no expert on Greb and cannot comment on this comparison but does anyone agree with Flea? I thought perhaps Lynch is abit like an orthodox (in more ways than one) Manny Pacquiao, but Benny seems more of a stand-up fighting with better technical skills.

    What do you guy's think?

Any comments on Lynch in general?

He manages to slip punches with very slight head movements, and tries to throw punches whatever angle he's at.

He's clearly bullishly strong at the weight. Mixes up shots to the head and body. Very hard hitter with the overhand right.

One day I will be able to afford the extended highlights of Lynch/Kane 1&2.

Benny Lycch's time at the top was short, but definitely sweet. It's a shame that his toughest opponent was Jack Daniels.

He bounces round on the balls of his feet throwing accurate punches in bunches, all of which are quite hard shots, he's a real ball of energy.

Not completely no. I remember ages ago i said to you Erik Morales has the same ideas as him at times, but their techniques are not similar in terms of punching form. Vintage Morales would have a good understanding of distance and had plenty of bounce whilst his main priority was to smash you to bits.

That's a comparison I never thought of, and quite a good one.

    What about Pacquiao?

Nar not really, Pacquiao in his younger days was a bit left cross happy. And now he's a bit more comparable to Lynch i suppose, in style, they're still different though, only really in punching technique though. Good thinking there though.

Reviewing my Greb DVDs I see vague similarities. I think its the fact my copy of greb is HD.
