Don't be too sure. There wasn't much to repsond to excpet for that last phrase. IIRC, you're an American, like me. Why does there need to be a change in the HW division? Fighters like Wlad are a change among HWs. :think Since both Wlad & Peter are non Americans, why is SP the change that "we" need?

Btw, I'm not a big SP basher. You're a much bigger critic of Wlad than I am of Sam. And some SP doubters are and are not Wlad fans. Peter has critics form all corners here on ESB. :p My views on SP have always been moderate.

Im a huge fan of fighters who have strong chins and a heavy punch, Wlad lacks chin thats not something that just goes away with time. I also seem to root for guys who came up the hard way in life and assume there tougher for it, Wlad grew up in upper middle class home and is well educated. Me personally I would like to see a fighter with that rage in the ring that captures peoples imagination including mine, I guess me and alot of others are waiting for the second coming of a fighter like Tyson.

History will judge this era once it's past & I'd rather hear history's opinion rather than yours, but that's just me :D

That's funny cuz I'm just as confident that Wladimir stops Peter inside the distance next time around.

The heavywieght division was never made fun of as bad as it is today, if you watch HBO boxing over the last 5 years you would of heard commentators and experts giving there opinions on why the heavywieght division is so bad now. Im sure you heard the same yourself from not just HBO but other formats describing the decline of the once exciting and dominant heavywieght division.

The same **** was said coutless other times throughout history for many different eras, including Louis', Marciano's, Holmes', etc.

 Box, yes it was - even when it was basically a US only club. And HBO boxing is some unbiased scholarly source? Manny says that Wlad is a tremendous talent. Oh, he's biased. Manny has opportunities to handle many top fighters. He gladly works with Wlad - they've done very well together. :good

    Not in my opinion.

We have the old guard with Tua, McCall, Holyfield, Golota, etc.

We have the younger prospects like Peter, Chambers, Povetkin, Thompson (not that young) & Solis.

Plenty of big punchers like Peter, Virchis, etc.

What's not to like again? :deal

During Tyson's unprecendented quick rise to the top there weren't any real big names, Holmes defended his title against some cheesey boxers, so did Louis, so did Marciano, so did Patterson, etc, etc.

I wouldnt call Jersey joe or archie moore cheesey for Marciano. I wouldnt call Shmelling or Baer for Louis. Mccall,Golota, and Holyfield are recycled goods from the 90s which was there prime. Most of the young guys you named are little known aside from Peter. Please just admit the 90s were better than now, I probably watch just as much Heavywieght boxing as you do its not hard see.
