    Back in 1986 Berbick the WBC belt holder, he at one point Threatened to leave the heavyweight tournament, and fight Gerry Cooney in easier,more lucrative fight.

    This fight,if it had taken place, how does it play out?

    Decision? No, Berbick wins by KO. By 1986, Berbick was very sharp, coming off a win over Pinklon Thomas. Cooney had sat on the shelf for large periods of time, and didn't seem to have his heart in boxing after the 1982 loss to Holmes.

    Berbick could be caught cold he was stopped in 1 round by Mercado.

    So Cooney would have a punchers chance in the early rounds vs Berbick. But if Berbick can get through the first 3 or 4 rounds then the fight is his probably by late TKO.
