I'd like to know who here really believes that George Chuvalo would have mopped the floor with Tervor Berbick

KO magazine seems to think so. I think they severely underestimated Berbick as a fighter. They made light of it when he won fights of major importance and nailed him hard when he lost a fight such as to Snipes or Gordon.

Unless he takes Chuvalo lightly I dont see how he could lose

I think this would go the distance 10 or 12 rounds. I'll go with Berbick by UD.

Two very good bodypunchers here. I'm of the opinion that Berbick tends to be overrated while Chuvalo's abilities other than his chin tend to be underrated. I'd have to look back at some prime Chuvalo, but I seem to remember him being more mobile, less stiff and better at working the angles than Berbick. I'm also pretty sure he would have a speed advantage.

Chuvalo by UD seems likely, although I'd have to look back and see if Chuvalo was as good as I remember. I'm sure Berbick was as bad an I remember.

Chuvalo outroughs Berbick in a decision in this battle of Canadian Heavyweights.

To paraphrase Razor Ruddock, "Berbick is as Canadian as I am!"

In other words, about as Canadian as Bob Marley.

what big names did Chuvalo ever beat? He seemed to be a stepping stone at best while Berbick won a championship.

i cant see him stopping or roughing up Berbick. Berbick beat a lot of big names like Tate and the first man to beat Page and Thomas, two of the biggest names out there

As much respect as I have for George Chuvalo, I really can't see him outpointing, and certainly not stopping the man who convincingly defeated prime versions of Tate, Page and Thomas, as well going the distance with a peak Holmes. Chuvalo was best known for his losing efforts against great fighters as well as various wins over finge contender types and decent locals on the Canadian circuit. No one was more durable than George, but he did not have the fire power nor pure boxing ability to beat Berbick.

Very true, but did Chuvalo ever become champion?

    No, there weren't multi-titles available.
When ultimately tested, Berbick showed some "dog".
    George never did.
    Chuvalo UD...

Let's not forget the underrated Bob Clereux!

Your right Berbick has some very good wins. BUT in answer to your Q he beat Quarry, Doug Jones, and gave a prime Ali a tough fight

Stylistically it favours Berbick none the less
