Hmm. Maybe i was too harsh. He obviously has the goods but what has he done besides beat Pedraza? Pedraza himself had many on and off nights, and to my recollection, not many considered him to be among the very top togs of the division. (****ing hate all these titles...)
Pedraza is still a world class talent and would be favored over most at 130. He's got alot of skill bit he just got beat by a better skilled fighter. Davis is the real deal, I was highly impressed with his performance and I think he will go a long way in the division..
I haven't seen Berchelt, but Davis is a special talent, it boggles my mind how people can't see this.
He's just got to.stay on the straight and narrow, and focus all his ability on his craft. Don't want to see him end up as a wasted talent like Frankie Gomez who wasn't able to separate his party life from his proffesion.
You say that like Frankie's career is over. He's still 24, and he dominated Herrera easily. Dude just need to gets some higher profile fights. He should fight the winner of Vasquez/Collazo, too bad he's not with PBC. But I get what you're saying, we don't want another Broner on our hands.
He's awol.. his party life is consuming him, and if he doesn't come to his senses quick his career is going to be down the drain. I like Gomez and I want to see him reach new heights but I've heard some crazy things about the guy, and his bad habits during training camp that I can only hope he can shake. And Broner to me is not entirely wasted, he's still got some more opportunities left that could catapult him back to superstardom.
Anyone know if there's any truth to the rumours coming out of the Mayweather gym that Tank still ***** in a potty?
Vargas was there to be hit. Berchelt was ktfo in one round and Gervonta has real power also. It's possible that Berchelt might give him a fight, i just don't think so.
So was Badou Jack who was pretty experienced at the time, **** happens to 22-23 year old fighters sometimes, and for the record the guy that KO'd him is currently a Light Welterweight and was huge and going down in weight. Same thing happened with Sosa when he was younger and he's come back to go the distance with Walters and stop Fortuna, both far bigger punchers than the guy that stopped him.
Davis is holding his IBF cereal box belt hostage from the other title holders. We're not going to see Davis in a good fight any time soon.
