That fight will be good for him. He needs to work more on creating the openings then unleash the power, very one dimensional. Maybe for the best he doesn't rush back
Worst thing any team can do is feed a young fighter string of opponents for easy KO. Berlanga has wasted 6 years of valuable ring time experience with those 1st rnd knockout. As he steps up he has looked worst in each outing where he can't get the KO. His game plan is throw power shots , nothing but power shots in the early rnds. He also has terrible stance. He is flat foot with little upper body movement. When he can't KO his opponent he is tired and gets lazy. Last night Coseres timed him perfectly sending him to the canvas. Had there been more time on the clock he might have gotten stop in that rnd.
I wasnt that surprised by his performance last night tbh. I knew Coceres was going to be a tough customer, and Berlanga still needs alot of seasoning before he fights for a world title, thats for sure. At least now alot of people who have been hyping this guy to the moon can sit there butts down and chill out.
Berlanga looked avg at best. Idk what Coceres' natural weight is, but he looked considerably smaller than Berlanga out there. Berlanga would have been in deeper trouble had he fought someone who did not give up so much size to him. Idk if I would say that Berlanga is exposed, but this may just be another case of people jumping on the wagon of a promising but untested PR fighter.
