Berlanga is completely untested and doesnt deserve a shot against a former world champ. right now there is nothing separating berlanga from tyrone brunson in their respective ko streaks.
I dont think Smith will be so hesitant to throw punches at the unproven Brrlanga like he was against number 1 p4p Canelo Alvarez, but i would be curious to see if smith can take berlangas best punch and keep upright for more than a round.. Lets see it.
I expect Canelo will throw him an offer soon. Mexico vs PR always sell and its smart of him to fight them when they're not ready.
Berlanga would be an epic failure if he doesn't at least surpass the level Callum Stiff. It's a dangerous fight for Berlanga right now, but on his trajectory, by the end of 2021 he would murder Smith. Callum sucks.
If Berlanga needs a top opponent, he should fight Melikuziev who said he wants Berlanga.Now Melikuziev will go against Kovalev in just his 7th fight and the outsider in that fights is Kovalev(-400 for Melikuziev, +275 for Kovalev) while Berlanga is just talking.
I feel Callum would beat the kid up. Let’s face it, Edgar is a tough kid, hits hard. But vs cab drivers. Callum would be a massive step up, too soon.
I'm a Alvarez fan but if he fights Berlanga now, I would lose all respect for him. It would be a complete mismatch...that kid is raw like a condomless *****.
