Stiverne is a notoriously slow starter. But like KJ, he's got a cattle prod jab, and unlike KJ, he actually puts it out there more than 10X/rd. :yep Arreola's schnoz is so big, I can't believe it aint broken in every fight he makes. Point being, Arreola is a brawler, not a boxer. He doesnt do anything well off the backfoot, and he's gonna be tasting that power again all fight. I'd prefer Arreola to win, just b/c I wanna see Wilder KTFO, and I don't think Stiverne has the speed to catch Wilder...... Guess we'll see. either way....it's nice two N Americans are fighting for the paper title. Even if they are illegit, it's nice a couple of N Americans, Jennings, Perez(I know, he's Irish now), wilder, and maybe Rahman if he wins the Super8 will be fighting for the paper title. Someone, someday will fight a top 5 and will legitimize the title, but it could be 2-3 yrs before we see a REAL CHAMP holding the WBC again.:think
LOL. The fight wasn't even close to being close. Broken nose or not Arreola got whooped. And, that wasn't "lucky it was a well timed shot that almost put him away.
Yes 31-0-0-0 (KO 31) 6'8"/84" G.O.A.T. Puncher will be laughing at the funny looking featherfisted midget who is shorter than his very old promoter
The shot itself wasn't lucky indeed, but Stiverne got lucky that he broke Arreola's nose there. And Arreola clearly won the first two rounds without a broken nose. If Arreola got up from that knockdown without damage, he would have been able to do more and eventually drop Stiverne in the later rounds.
history has taught us the following: before every meaningful fight in his pro career, Arreola claimed to be in the best shape, had the best training camp ever, then after the fight, it's also always the same: every time he stepped up (Vitali, Adamek, Stiverne) he was easily beaten, ended up with a beaten-up face and said "I don't know what happened, a gave it my best, but he beat me" the facts of life are easy to see: Arreola, despite being a tough SOB, is also a limited fighter who will always lose against the best, no matter how hard he trains so Stiverne takes this, whether by UD or late stoppage remains to be seen
