I think Stiverne made Wilder's boxing ability look better than it is, his feet are just so damn slow, he can't catch Wilder from the outside in, he's can't cut the ring off to save his life (I think that was his gameplan but he executed it horribly), all Wilder had to do was circle the ring and stick a jab out with huge reach advantage and Stiverne can't do nothing to him.

Once again, props to Deontay, but don't kid yourselves because Stiverne had a very bad performance and was never that good to begin with. He's going to have major trouble with someone with a better workrate and/or someone who doesn't have such a huge size disadvantage. Fury would probably UD him, and he definitely isn't ready for Wlad yet, and never will be unless he waits about 4 years or more.

I didn't see the bout between Deontay Wilder and Bermane Stiverne, so I can't comment on how good they looked while fighting tonight. However, I am impressed that Wilder was able to not only go the distance and win a decision by a lopsided margin on the judges' scorecards despite the fact that none of his previous bouts lasted more than four rounds. In short, he took one huge step in the bout.

Totally roughed up, busted up face with a nose bleed and a few mice under his eyes and forehead

This was pretty much the best possible scenario for him, going forward.
Got in some good rounds, chin held up and hardly gave away any rounds.

Wow look at my prediction from The Fantasy Forum.:deal:deal:deal

This was my response when someone ask me how and why I thought Wilder would win.

Well.. that sounds like the same criticism Wlad get's in just about every fight.. the guy he fights sucks...

    Despite how the looked previously.

I rate Chris Arreola relatively high.. not great, but a tough mother****er that you better be a damn good fighter to beat him.. and Stiverne did it twice.

Stiverne might not be the greatest.. but the reasons he looked bad were ALL due to Wilder.

He did jab? Because he didn't think he could because of the height and reach of Wilder and fear of being countered. Couldn't cut off the ring.. because cutting of the ring isn't as simple as the announcers make that **** out to be. There's no exact way to cut of the ring against a good athletic guy...

I mean.. Paulie made a career of fighting going backwards and people had trouble cutting the ring against him in almost every fight.. it's a stupid criticism.. because the reasons that someone isn't rushing in or working the inside is DIRECTLY DUE TO THE GUY THEY ARE FIGHTING.

Mostly because Wilder had a stiff jab in Stivernes face all the time.

People say someone didn't show up.. no.. he showed up alright.. he just got SHUT DOWN.

Saying someone didn't show up is just to take away from the guy who won.

So other than Fury and Wlad... (and no I don't rate Fury that high).. who has this high work rate and size that's gonna trouble him?

You're making up fighters that don't exist.

    :thumbsup

Last I'd heard on Guillermo Jones was he wanted to move up to heavyweight and fight Klitschko. Not a good idea.
