Again, people say Wilder will win because of his reach. Wilder's not even that good at using his reach.

He isn't good at anything really. He has awful balance for one and I haven't seen him throw anything other than a mediocre Jab or his windmilling punches. He doesn't have any skills like some of the other taller fighters to keep someone on the outside. He is going to be stumbling all over the ring on Saturday like a baby deer.

No, but he doesn't need to be. How many guys have been hurt from him just lobbing that right hand like an outfielder playing deep and making a wild relay throw in to a shortstop? :conf

We haven't even seen him fight a Class B opponent yet. Remember all the guys Sam Peter was KOing until he fought Klitschko (who certainly does not have a good Chin) and then all the KO's basically stopped after that fight? He KOed nobody of note but Maskaev and even then with his Glass Jaw he was stopped on his feet.

I don't think Wilder is the savage puncher he has been made out to be.

Stiverne looks very focused, while Wilder feels overconfident and underestimating Stiverne. This is Wilder's first fight when his opponet really throws punches back. We'll see what is Wilder's reaction when Stiverne hits him hard with that right hook. I expect it shocks Wilder due to his zero experience with A-B level fighters.

I would be very surprised if Wilder would make it to round 3. Stiverne gives him a beating of a lifetime.

Three day 'til Wilder leaves the ring on a bronze stretcher.

    Explain, ESB

To me this is a 50/50 fight. Stiverne is clearly the best value bet

People (lets say the general betting public) look at Wilder's KO streak as some indication he is going to easily KO Stiverne. People who know boxing [us ESBers] know better. As James Toney put it, "it's a mismatch. Stiverne is going to hurt him. Stiverne is going to knock him out in 3 or 4 rounds. He [Wilder] has KO'd 33 washing men. You don't develop as a fighter that way".

I agree with Toney, Wilder is extremely under-developed and he has built a KO record on the back of tomato cans. Stiverne is more experienced and has both a better amateur and pro record. It baffles me that Wilder is favored.

put it this way. ESB vote with their hearts.. no successfull bookie ever gets emotionally invested in anything other then making a profit .. so wilder 2-1 im inclined to go with (i dont know much about heavys)

    completely agree.

what has deontay learnt? he is still in the early stages of being a pro. how many %100 ko-ers went on to win a world title?

Stiverne has a good beard and Im not convinced with Wilders power.

I would love it for Wilder to pull it off, put Don King's mitts of a heavyweight belt and all, but we have to look at the facts here.
While Stiverne isn't all that (just look at him against shot Ray Ausin and try not to laugh), he is a huge step up for Wilder, who's best win is a very fishy KO1 against his -rumored to be in gamblingdebt at the time- friend Scott.

I think the bookies are way off in this one.

Bookies rarely off , thats how they make money , if you think you are the only pepole "who knows about boxing" , there are so many pepole involved in the betting world , no way the sharks will let a 2-1 !!!! odds go unoticed if stiverene is actually the favorite to win , so either we are missing something about wilder , or its a common knoweldge that he will take a dive on purpose.
