Name a proven fighter according to your standards in the top 10 outside Wlad and Povetkin.

If Wilder were to dominate the guy who dominated top 10 Chris Arreola, then that is a significant win and puts him top 5.

Sensible people will agree with me and you will indeed see Wilder in the top 5 of various rankings if he wins.

I dont think Wilder will win , but man , ppl here just hating so much , you dont have to have a granite jaw to be a world class fighter (Wlad ?) , ppl who derate stiverne to a BUM status no less are really looking for reasons to hate on Wilder IF he beats him , Stiverne is a legit champion and will prove it in the next fights (unless he fighters Povotkin/Wlad who will end him).
for the 10000 time , you dont have to be able to beat Wlad to be considered a world class figther give those guys a break.

I know, it happens all the time. Stiverne is always getting sparked out cold by his opponents.

Stiverne may as well be Sprott. When is Deontay going to finally step up and face a durable top 20 opponent.

When will he face Dominic Guinn, for instance?

If he beats Stiverne, that's a legit top 10 win and it would put him near the top of the division for sure. Still, it's just one good win and while it's enough to put him near the top of a weak division, it's not enough to give him anything like the pedigree of top fighters from other divisions. He'd be level with Fury in terms of opposition (Fury has a few good wins, but has beaten no champions). Once he's beaten three top 10 guys he'd be a proven guy in my view - and the only person to hold that distinction at HW is WK, at the moment.

Edit: I should add that Stiverne and Povetkin are two other heavies who hold significant victories and thus currently deserve to be rated higher than Wilder - until tonight at least.

We'll see boxingmaster. Wilder is the next big thing, better jump on the wagon before it's too late.

well at least you have an objective standard. That's a high bar for "proven" though. It basically says that the only proven guy is the undisputed champ.

OK. Have you see Stiverne fight yet? Guy is good and Stiverne versus Povetkin is 50/50 in my opinion.

So if he beats the #2 HW in the world then he would have your attention ? this is not how boxing works , he needs to get your attention NOW and if he wins against Povtkin you will need to PRAISE him - he is up and comer , you set the bar this high for all the up and coming boxers out there ?
no one is trying to say he is great NOW , but if he beats stiverne he should get tons of credit , and if he goes on to beat Fury he needs to be PRAISED , of course when he looses to Wlad you will be on his back and call him a tomato can , but thats life in the HW these days , you either win against a decade long champion or you are a bum.

Yeah, maybe I set that bar a little too high. Let's say three wins against top 20 opposition with at least one top 10 guy among them - then you are proven. That's a little more forgiving but still requires a fighter to do more than just have a fluke win. Wilder's wins over Firtha, Gavern and Scott (if that one was legit) were pretty good and makes me think he could be more than hype (I've not watched very much tape of him).
