According to the scene, the fight will be made official very soon.
    Early next week apparently

The 'scene reported a couple of weeks ago the fight was signed, but then backtracked.

    Top story on the scene.

Wilders co-manager saying its practically done and dusted.
Might be pushed back to 2015 due to lack of TV space though

don king is the scum of the earth, but even he knows Deontard poses no threath to anyone above the light heavyweight division.

While Wildest team know very well his silicic limitations.

    Its Wilders manager saying it

  13. I don’t know the details of how boxing deals are structured but it doesn’t seem unreasonable to want a commitment if you are offering a career high payday to a fighter. TV deals work this way too. Showtime and HBO also want a commitment and not a one fight deal.

In fact, most deals in sports and entertainment work this way. The promoter/network/owner/studio will offer a large amount of money in return for a commitment of time or # of fights/projects/etc.

What seems unfair to me is when a promoter will pressure a fighter to re-sign in order to get decent terms on their last fight in the contract, for example what has been reported with Top Rank and Chavez Jr. Don’t know the details though…
