I just watched some of his fights, and the man hits very hard and seems to have a solid chin. I know he lost to Demitrice King and has since won 5 straight all 1st round KO's. If anyone out there has seen his loss to King, or knows more about him... Does this guy have potential or is he just another big puncher who has little in the way of boxing skill?

I posted the same thread a while back, and nobody really seemed to know enough about him yet.

Bermane "B. WARE" Stiverne (born January 11, 1977 in Laval, QC, Canada) is a Canadian heavyweight boxer of Haitian descent.

Stiverne was Canadian superheavyweight silver medallist in 2005. In 2003 and 2004 he won bronze. In international competition he beat Robert Helenius (points) and David Price (boxer) (KO). His record was 49-10. He comments about his absence from the Olympics: "In a qualifying tournament in Mexico I met a Mexican fighter in the semi-finals and I was robbed. I knocked him down three times but still they gave him the decision and the place in Olympics."

About the King upset... I know that actually before that fight, Stiverne complained a few times that he was matched against opponents that were to soft wich could explain why he was surprised by the opposition King offered him on that night. I also know about the stoppage that Stiverne thought that the ref stopped it too early (but don't all boxers do ?) I remember seeing the footage on the net once but I thibk it's gone now and I don't remember if myself thought it was an early stoppage or not.

Concerning the kind of opposition he has had since the King defeat... Well I dunno what he thinks of it but my guess would be that he's not happy about it. By the way, he is promoted by Don King.
