Since his January decision loss to Deontay Wilder, team Stiverne has been very quiet. Would be great to have him back in the mix.
    Anyone got any news?

He wasn't very active before and he had a muscle affliction to boot, so I won't expect him back in the ring until the fall at least.

He will be what 37 by the time he makes a first tune up. He's done.

Think it's a bit early to suggest he's done we will probably see him comeback and try another run at a title. But you have to wonder if we have already seen the best of Stiverne, he clearly has issues staying in shape, is very inactive and his preparation for Wilder seemed amateurish at best. Also at 37 he doesn't have much time to mess around, he'll come back but will likely be used up by younger better fighters.

He's not done. He'll get another big fight or two I'm sure it was part of his deal with Haymon when making the Wilder fight. The fight was a mandatory and somehow Wilder walked away with the larger purse. That means some back room wheeling and dealing was done.

Hopefully he can be a bit more active now he's signed with Haymon.

He only has a few good years left

Yes a journeyman, a "test" for someone. Maybe a $100k payday waiting for him, that's it. Quite sad.

    Why sad?

100k for a guy who is passed it sounds pretty nice!
Also, hes not THAT old yet. He has 2-3 good years in him

He'd still make a decent gatekeeper, but he probably never had a champion material.

He did make his debut at 27 but obesity and inactivity have it´s toll. Hes had only 7 fights in the last 6 years. :patsch

But yes, 100k would be good money for him and he will likely pocket a few of those paychecks.
