Presscott is a much better fighter than Kiko Martinez!
Seriously. Lets see in a couple of years where they both are at.

Prescott has never shown anything that implies he is better than Kiko.

saintsmike, get over it. Khan is a mouthpiece who was talking about being better than most of the elite P4P fighters in the world before he had even fought someone decent at domestic level. He ended up getting starched by a handpicked fighter who was there to pad his record. PPV for Khan is a disgrace. He still hasn't gone into a fight where you are looking at his opponent and thinking 'this lad is a good fighter'.

Dunne got beaten by a ranked challenger for a legitimate belt. He also never claimed he was going to beat all these elite fighters or got carried away with himself and made all sorts out stupid statements.

Prescott and Martinez are two similar fighters. Both are very limited and if you can stay out of range they look ordinary to say the least. Both have a lot of KO's against lads with poor records. And both have just the 1 big scalp in their respective divisions.

Khan dug his own hole and its silly not to expect people to be glad to see him sparked. He rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way. The same cannot be said of Dunne

Dunne was so gracious in defeat, he was apologetic to his fans and congratulated Kiko.
Khan practically dismissed his defeat by saying it was a silly mistake.

Dunne is a down to earth, well spoken kid.
Khan is a cocky, thick mouthpiece.

Dunne was defending a title against a mandatory challenger.
Khan was fighting a supposedly average boxer and took a win for granted.

Irish fans (most of them anyway) like to support there sports people in success and defeat.
I won't generalise about British people but the build them up to tear them down thing seems quite prevalent in British sport.

At least Dunne had the balls to face his mando.

Khan ducked Thaxton pretty bad, despite being offered £400k to fight.

The old Hennessy Sports website doesn't work anymore......

Everyone knows... look at the back issues of Boxing Monthly, they report it as well.

I do not think British fight fans warmed to Khan from the start. He is just a marketing scam for the modern Britain but a big time **** head to boot.

Dunne is apreciated and liked in Britain even after his loss by fight fans. He has a bit of talent and is a decent guy it seems. Hopefully if he gets a few good hard fights thrown at him he will gain another belt. While Khan would prefer to play it safe and not face dangerous opposition.

If i ever liked a fighter more because of defeat its Dunne, he was humbled, made no excuses bar he felt he got caught cold while praiing Kiko. He got back in the ring against decent opposition and actually boxed better than before, he has talent theres no doubt...

ANOTHER thing, Dunne was offered a world title shot but turned it down, not everyone knows this, he is realistic and wants to rebuild himself and not just fight (probably Molitor at the time though they didnt say who he was offered a fight with) to cash in...
    He admits he wasnt ready.....

Khan is a numbnut, big headed, hyped up fighter with little appreciation for his fans in truth....PPV my arse, but thats Warren

He was offered Cabellro. When the Molitor-Cabellero fight was up in the air for a while (tv dispute) Cab wanted to get Dunne in for an interim fight before the Molitor fight could be made

It was before Dunne's second comeback fight with Marchiano though(well the fight would have taken place a month after, but negotiations were before that fight), so it was too early for Dunne to be thrown to the wolves like that.

Even if he got a World shot now it'll probably be against an easier foe than Caballero, even if it's up at Featherweight(v Cruz or Larios).
