I really don't think MArquez and Vasquez are that far ahead of the pack they have serious flaws. Vasquez boxes like a poor mans Barrera and Marquez is so stiff and immobile. Really over-rated and not incredible world beaters by any strech.
Both can box and punch with the best of them though Jeff. It really all depends on how much their trilogy (with possibly a fourth fight) has taken out of them. I still wouldn't give Dunne a chance against either. Looks like Vazquez may have dropped the WBC belt anyway, wasn't Nishioka the interim champion prior to fighting Genaro Garcia? I thought that was for the full title.
Vazquez HAS dropped the WBC title - not that it means **** anyways...... Everyone knows who the champ is! 1. Vazquez 2. Marquez 3. Lopez 4. Caballero
Of course Beeston. But maybe with Nishioka as the champion, it might pave the way for our Munroe to win a title at 122.
I think lopez may turn out to be the best; but he needs to step up- there is great potential for the best three way series for many years- in fact I'm struggling to think of another one
Vasquez, Marquez, Caballero and Lopez would all have too much firepower for Dunne. I like him and hope he gets a title shot but its going to take some pretty clever matchmaking for him to get a belt.
Stick Lopez in with someone with a chin and capable of hitting him back properly and I suppose we will see. I am 50-50 with him ATM - knocking out people in one round every time obviously shows power, but can paper over cracks to a degree.
He had that already with Daniel Ponce de Leon. This guy was regarded to be a huge puncher and have an iron chin. JuanMa made him down all over the ring.
Noted............ But DPDL was schooled on the Hatton Mayweather bill, badly.... yet received a wide UD.
Yeah but over the last 4 years that I remember him he has also looked like a great boxer as well. The only thing Ive not seen properly tested is his chin. Lopez is pretty close to the full package IMO.
