Well Munroe was at the fight having a good look probably at Cordoba, wonder what he's thinking now. we gave him a good reception i thought, not too many boos unlike Boyzone.
Probably thinking, "Back to the Bins then!". Seriously though, I actually think Munroe is a decent guy, it's just that Maloney lad who gets on my last nerve!
Munroe is a decent guy, Very humble, i like him a lot, this would be a great first defense but i think Dunne has gone to another level based on tonights performance.
You're out of your mind if you think this fight came close to Marquez/Diaz.. atsch Fickle minded people.
I said he's one of the best, not the best you blind ****.. Any knowledgable boxing fan knew that Cordoba was one of the best but so so boxing fans like yourself had no clue until now..
Here mate just because you keep referring to knowledgable boxing fans, it doesn't make you one. Do one :hi:
Lads, I seldom speak on these threads so forgive me if I go too over the top here, but that was one of the best fights I have seen in many many years. I will admit that before the fight I did state that I thought dunne would not have enough to beat Cordoba and that it would go to the scorecards with a Panamanian victrory. I was however, as ever, supporting Dunne like every Irishman and woman in the country tonight to the last second and have to say that tonight he proved me wrong and all his doubters wrong that he is truly world class!! I therefore would like to congratulate Bernard Dunne in such a magnificent display of heart, courage, and skill and wish him all the suuccess in his future fights. Along with the rugby team today, you have made Irish people more proud to be Irish than even that on St Patricks day... P.S I really hope Cordoba was ok, he looked pretty bad on the stretcher on the way out Also, for non RTE viewers tonight, without hyping this up, this was literally the fight of the year. 11 rounds (fully 2min 59 sec), 6 knock downs and 40 minutes of absolute bravery, skill and heart that I have ever seen. Without getting to morbid(or whatever the word is), this fight was basically the Irish version of Benn Vs Mclellann
I'm usually the first to admit when thinks are getting over-hyped, but to me this has to rival fight of the year. Just because it was not on sky or Hbo doesn't mean its not the fight of the year. Some boxing fans think a fight is only fight of the year if it was one of the big hyped up las vegas fights between two top ten fighters. Well I'm telling everybody to check this WORLD TITLE FIGHT out as soon as they can because it as a *******. Some people payed 20 euro to see Amir Khan fight an over the hill Barerra last week in a non title fight, and the amount of threads that sprung up as a result of that fight was ridiculous!! Honestly, if there is a world title fight as good as this later on in the year i will be willing to pay the PPV money for it!!
i was never one of bernads biggest fans but after tonight i think he could take anyone in the 122 division . **** munroe . bring on cordoba and lopez unification in the point . wat an atmosphere , bernad is up there with mcguigan after tonight
I've been tavel through airports all day and just logede on to see what happened in the Heaveywieght fight and I findout Bernard Dunne is a world F$%^ing champoin!! Pretty freakin stoked right now! Love the way this guy fights. And to beat such a proven good fighter in doing it makes it that much sweater. Congratulations to Dunnne. Congratulations to Ireland!
