Hopkins was very frustrating to watch in the Calzaghe fight, but I suspect we would get something alot more like he showed us in the Wright fight against Pavlik.

A prime Hopkins threw combinations: right-hand, headbutt, hold; hold, right-hand, headbutt; headbutt, hold, right-hand etc.

I think it's one thing to beat Hopkins but another matter entirely to KO him. No-one has even been close and it's even more unlikely since Hopkins has removed the "right-hand" from most of his combinations. Pavlik might get a DQ, though, because I can see a ref taking a no-nonsense approach to Hopkins when an "all-American" (ie. white American) superstar Pavlik is in the other corner.

Right because Hopkins has suspect chin, becuase his defense has as many holes as Miranda and he is on the same level as Lockett !! The only time he stops Hopkins is before the fight when he asks him for an autograph !!

he will be ko"d becasuse he is 44 years old and kelly is prolly the hardest puncher he has ever FACED at any point and don't say Tarver... he can punch but kelly turns more of his punches over

hopkins used to punch in combos when he was still a stalking fighter. now he backpedals, outwaits his opponents, throw a right or left and hold coming head first. pavlik by UD

Does everyone forget the Tarver fight was boring as hell for the first four rounds?

I'll have to see if I can find a copy of that fight. I just watched Cal/Hop again. I just posted on the front page that Bhop would have to find another way to spoil than what he used against Cal. Cal REALLY helped him out a lot the way he jumped in. Bhop would lunge off balance with a punch and hold. Sometimes if Cal had stepped aside Bhop would have stumbled down. But Joe was always right there coming in to prop him up. I don't think that works against Kelly how 'plods forward' behind his jab. Bhop would be eating uppercuts if he came in with his head down like that against Kelly.

Well, in a way, Bhop is signing this check for Pavlik. He will now get more than he was expecting from his other matches that never materialized.

Let me let you in on a little secret !!

Unless Hopkins just stands there and takes Kelly's best shot he won't be Ko ed !! Who was the last person to wobble him or catch him flush ?? When you can give me that person I will tend to agree with you ! And at 44 he's still more expereinced than Kelly ..Like I said in previous posts ,in order to out work Hopkins you need speed .

Kelly has no speed to speak of !And I think Tito Trinidad was at the time the hardest puncher he's ever faced but wait what about Tarver are you telling me he hits harder than Tarver ???

Thats right I said it and he can't turn over punches like Pavlik :huh Man have you left your house in the last 10 yrs ??

You must have been super duper impressed in his performance against that steller journeyman Lockett !
