Hopkins didn't exactly back out, Don King agreed to pay Hopkins $3.5 million to fight Toney in Aug 2003. Hopkins signed the contract for the fight then Don King said he couldn't pay either fighter as much and offered Hopkins a million dollars less, despite their being an agreed amount which all parties had signed.

Hopkins wisely decided against going up 3 weight divisions for less than the contractually agreed for amount with a promoter who was notorious for ripping his fighters off at every opportunity.

i take a prime nigel benn to beat both of them, and he stops toney at 160.

Never ever forget a prime Toney was being outboxed by Nunn, before catching up with him. His mouth does more than his boxing.

What is prime Benn to you? And did you see Benn get out-thought and severely outclassed by Watson, who was probably a slightly inferior fighter to Toney?

Hopkins was a better middleweight champion. He accomplished more at LHW, and would beat Toney in either division at any time in both of their careers.
Fact is, Toney lacks the discipline of Hopkins.

This fight would never happen since the Cagot run networks dislike both of these ATG black men.

That version of Benn, Toney beats all night , that was the Benn who just thought his power would take anybody out.

I go for the Benn who actually lost to Eubank , because I personally thought Eubank was the best fighter at 160 at that time , and that includes McCallum.

BHop could let him come in as fat as he wants to and still beat him! When was the last time this Phoney named Toney did anything anyway? Who cares what this has been has to say now?
