He was a huge middleweight so going up at the time wouldnt of been a problem atall.... How would he fair against the current super 6 crop though?

    IMO
UD over Dirrell,Ward,Abraham. I give him a UD over taylor even when he was out of him prime... so primed hopkins stops him imo. and he stops kessler and froch within 10 rounds.....

How do you all think B-Hop does??

Hopkins, for all his glorious longevity and masterpieces against Trinidad, Tarver and Pavlik, was not unbeatable. Ward and Dirrell would have a serious speed advantage, something Hopkins never did well against. Abraham isn't as easy to outpoint by a technically better fighter as some think, his guard is very effective and his explosive combinations can win rounds, even if he doesn't knock out his opponent. Taylor stunned Hopkins in the early rounds and Abraham hits much harder. Taylor and Kessler wouldn't have the ring intelligence to beat Hopkins and Froch is just too easy to hit. But I don't see Hopkins just sweep the super six without problems. His wins over Trinidad and DHL mean very little when he goes up against strong supermiddleweights.

He's beatable but not by any of them. Were talking about a prime Hopkins here (who i think was over-rated). Ward & Dirrell lack experience. Standing behind your giant forearms & throwing the odd flurry probably wouldnt win it for Abraham either IMO.

'Ring intelligence' isn't something you'd usually expect to diminish as a fighter gets more experienced.

Taking punches to the head can make you a little less smart IMO.
If he was smarter he probably wouldn't keep getting KO'd.

use your ****ing brain :patsch, He couldn't beat Jermain Taylor twice who is in the tournament and yet he beats Taylor? If Taylor had therefore moved up at that time before putting mileage on his tank with hopkins/pavlik than he would have fought even harder at 168. IMO Taylor proved to be more solid at 168 even after he put the mileage on his body with Pavlik at 160.

One guy he sure as hell wouldn't beat is Andre Ward. Get your head out of your ass with your old timer favoritism and think a bit.

I don't even like Hopkins (check my post history). Prime Hopkins beats the current Taylor IMO. Because Ward beat Miranda & Kessler he beats a prime Hopkins?

He'd seriously own these guys. Maybe Ward has a chance in couple years since he ain't prime yet.

I don't see him beating Ward or Dirrell. Dirrell is just the Roy Jones type and it's the style Bhop always had problems with. Ward is technically brilliant, just like Bhop only he's an Olympic Gold Medalist on top of that. I think Ward would beat Bhop even in his prime.

I'll admit I haven't seen much of Dirrell but he's inexperienced & couldn't beat Froch so I'd favour Hopkins

Dirrell is talented but he ain't no fighter. Sloppy as hell.

Roy Jones had the talent and the skills to go with it. Jones is easily one of the best fighters in his prime H2H. You can't compare these guys to him. And it can't be much of a knock on Hopkins that he lost a decision to Jones earlier in his career.

Hopkins in his prime...had strength, stamina, punching power, decent handspeed, ring savvy. I don't know how you can match these guys up to him. And yes, I realise Taylor does have a couple of 'wins' over him on his record but they were hardly wins and Hopkins was not prime and was slowing down at 160 lbs during the latter stages of his reign there.

Some of you fools need to think.
