There shouldn't be an option in the poll saying that he needs to retire after watching him schooling Pavlik even if he is 43

Please tell me how this low blow faker can possibly be considered exciting? Actually, as I wrote that I remember how he dominated Pavlik and think 'yes he can be exciting'. But so can nyone against the right fighter. God I'm gonna get punished for this one

I tend to agree his is boring but don't think he should retire because of it.Fair play he has had a lot of success fighting the way he does

    fair enough. much better post.
and i agree that the 'white boy' jibe and the other disrespectful garbage that hopkins throws around probably cost him a rematch too.

but at the same time, i think its ironic that you say the british public have never heard of hopkins because, even though he's never been PPV material, the problem that has plagued calzaghe's career (and for which he'll always receive criticism for) is that he - and warren - never chose to market calzaghe in the states and thats why he never got jones or hopkins in their prime.

joe called them out, but calling out great fighters when you're not willing to make your name internationally will keep you as an unknown.

    but i understand your point.

Yep. I will agree to that he has had a lot of success. And when he 'fights' he is good. But when he tries to steal then he just gets on my tits.

I think he ain't getting a rematch because he made Joe look bad on his big American coming out party.

He is definately not exciting. Not to say he hasnt had good performances against Tito and Pavlik, but for the most part he is is dull as dish water.

I hear a lot people go on about how ring intelligent he is, when he is just blatantly cheating. Not many other boxers get a free pass from the fans when they hit and hold, throw head butts, elbows, low blows, but Hopkins does because his is 'ring intelligent' and when he was rolling around on the floor grabbing his nuts from an imaginery low shot from Joe Calzaghe I felt embarrassed for him as well as infuriated.

He is one of the best middles of all time, a very good H2H boxer, but is horrible to watch.

You are referring to his whole career and you still say he isnt exciting?

Well then, someone just proved they havent seen Hopkins fight, pre-Eastman.

For anyone voting boring...you dont get the nickname "The Executioner" by out pointing people. Do some research people...the man is 43 now, of course he is going to slow and change his style to lengthen his longevity!

Amazing how a poll can show how terribly biased or how far back a "fan's" "knowledge" truely stretches back!
