Bernard Hopkins fears Chad Dawson

    You can just feel it from the way Bernard talks about Dawson. He gives him tremendous respect and that just isnt who Bhop is. Bhop sees the style disadvantage.

    Dawson is faster, a much better combination puncher, has height reach and foot speed advantage and Bhop knows all of this.

    No way Bernard can win this fight. Place your bets against the sheep of casual fans and win big.

    After what Hop did to Pavlik, I learned never to pick against Hop again.


    I like Bad Chad, but he's not active enough to beat Hop. Hop will beat him to the punch and stay away for a unidec.

    I think even Hopkins knows that if Dawsons shows up motivated, there is little he can do. It's really dependent on which Dawson shows up.

    Fair enough. Chad can fight unmotivated. But, when Dawson is motivated there isnt another light heavy including and especially Bhop that can beat him. Chad is a terrible style match up for Bhop. Chad has every advantage besides ring iq, but there is no way, none that Chad ever looks as poor as Pavlik.

    Only threat to a motivated Chad is a pressure fighter like Tavoris, who is similar to Adamek in style and can give them a extremely tough fight.

    He definitely wasn't in a hurry to fight him when Chad was undefeated. Chad at his best is an excellent boxer and very tough for anyone. In his last few fight though, Dawson has been fighting inconsistently and looking uninspired, so I have to favor Hopkins. Bernard is firing on all cylinders recently and might school Dawson too.

    Chad has the tools, but not the fire to beat Hopkins.

    Fluidity beats Hopkins. (older 43 + Bhop) Wether with hands or using footwork.
    Dawson will beat Bhop.
    Pavlik and Pascal are not good fluid type boxers w/ hand speed and footwork.
    Bhop is good at avoiding big shots but that is not Dawson's game.
    Dawson is gifted and just needs to box like he does and he will put Bhop in a big hole early.
    If Chad changes his style and goes for the KO he will lose. I heard that mentioned and that is the worst gameplan of all time.

    Bernard wouldnt shut up tonight during FNF about how much he wants to knock out Dawson.He also believes that if he doesnt bring the fight to him, chad is gonna stink out the joint.

    I agree with this actually. I think Dawson will win, but damn, you never know with Bernard

    Everything Jermain Taylor had success at Bad Chad is better at. I feel it when Chad is pumped FOR a fight and he is pumped for Bhop. Bhop has ducked Chad for too long and now he is even in worse condition to beat him.

    Bernard doesnt have the power or stamina to break down Chad and you wont see Bhop out boxing Chad. I am smelling a wide decision here. 8-4 9-3.

    All chad has to do is throw punches. Problem with a lot of bhop opponents is they get intimidated . Hopkins punch output is so low, and he fights very tentative against aggressive , younger fighters. Even Pascal could have stole a victory if he'd just throw a lot more punches. Bhop is so damn old now there's really no reason for these young fighters to lose to him. They should be embarassed actually. Pascal got completely exposed . If chad can't beat a 45 / 46 year old Hopkins, he should retire in shame.

    After Dawson's last 5 performances, how can anyone possibly pick him to beat Bernard?

    BHOP is gonna abuse this man over 12 rounds, and then I'll have to hear all of you guys saying that Chad was never really anything anyway.

    BHOP by molestation. :deal
