What a crock. Did Hopkins destroy De La Hoya's career ? No, now De La Hoya, who was stopped by Hopkins via a body shot, is fighting the PacMan at several weight classes below. What a joke these catchweight fights are.

If Pavlik wanted to fight at a weight class two levels higher, he should have taken a few more fights at those weight levels. This is all about the money baby.

Pavlik will redeem himself in his next title defense. If not, then yeah, time to hang it up. But, the nature of boxing today is for these guys to jump all over the different weight classes for this PPV and silly fights.

You seem to be having some real problems with reality today. Facts are facts, not excuses.

Your ass is twisted. Kelly was ****in ill...not 100%, understand? That means something, you can not dismiss this. Maybe he still wouldn't have beaten Hopkins, would it would have much more competitive.

Good post. I've already made the Haglar comparison a couple times myself.

According to some peoples logic Hearns should have quit after Leonard, Leonard should have quit after the first Duran fight, Arguello should have quit after Marcel, Ali should have quit after Frazier, and ****ing Hopkins himself should have quit after losing his first pro fight!!

JETSKI, I like both Pavlik & Hopkins a lot (as you know), but I'm not buying this.

Kelly did not know how to deal with the movement he was presented with.

Hopkins essentially neutralized Kelly with a very simply game plan.

Pavlik is still a great fighter, and he will come back strong and better I suspect, but Hopkins was all wrong for him.

Luckily for Pavlik, there aren't too many technicians like Hopkins in the 160-175 pound range.

  10. He should change his name to Kelly "Captain Excuses" Pavlik
