Bernard Hopkins has destroyed Pavlik's career.

  1. Just because I'm a noobie, you're gonna just try to insult me. Kelly Pavlik is finished. Hey you are almost at 4000 posts. Congrats

Your comments are assinine, and your lack of boxing knowledge is so glaring I have to wear sun glasses to read your posts. Haglar had two losses and a draw against guys who aren't qualified to wash Bernard's jock before he ever won a world title. When Haglar did finally win the title he took it from Alan Minter; a guy Jermain Taylor would demolish.

Tommy Hearns lost two fights to Iran Barkley. Iran is never mentioned in hall of fame or ATG converations. Hardly anyone outside of hard core fans even knows who he was.

Alexis Arguello lost a fight before he ever got near a title shot. When he did get a shot he lost to Ernesto Marcel, and that his hardly a household name now is it? He also lost his first fight at 135 to Vilomar Fernandez; a guy most of the posters on ESB probably never heard of.

Robinson lost to Lamotta. Ali lost to Frazier. Leonard lost to Duran. The list goes on and on. Fighters who work hard at staying busy, and trying to get the best possible opponents, suffer some losses; period! You are a child, and obviously very new to the sport. Those facts stand out clearly in your posts more than any other factors.

you're a ****ing idiot pavlik nuthugger who laughed at me picking hopkins to beat kelly, now you're full of excuses.

pavlik is a sore loser and would never beat hopkins, ever. he might as well accept the ****ing fact and move on

Pavlik will definately rise to some level of prominence again given the chance. Expectations are so low now, it's going to impress people condsiderably if or when he does anything good.

i dont agree expectations are so low now at all.

it shouldnt be hard for kelly to reinforce himself as a standard bearer at middle considerng the oppostion.

You don't agree expectations are low? Elaborate. Because based on what I'm seeing and hearing people think he's the biggest bust in recent boxing history.

Well people are morons, to be blunt about it. :hat Anytime a fighter suffers his first defeat, his career his destroyed (without even having proof that he's finished) or he should retire.

Of course. Whenever you lose, regardless of who it's against, you suck and will lose to anyone who fights remotely like the guy who beat you :bart

You do appear to be protesting too loudly here, Boo.

I told you before the fight that Pavlik was no Calzaghe and explained to you that Pavlik was likely going to lose.

You should try to keepup to Kelly's level of class and avoid the wild excuses here.

You're only discrediting your fighter when you do that.

  13. This reminds me of Calzaghe/Lacy. Even though Lacy won every fight since(two of them he should of lost), he was never the same. Hopkins/Pavlik reminds me of that

    Pavlik is not changed.

IF he is - then he is weak and would have folded at some time anyway. All in all it doesnt make a difference. Either he can handle it or he cant. I think he can just like plenty of other fighters before him in Andrade, Duran and so on. If I am wrong, then we havent lost anything because then he was a mentally weak fighter and it would have come out sooner or later.

Pavlik's reputation is shattered. He could still have a good career but he will not be as large as what we thought he could be.
