No doubt Roy was devestated then, but there is also no doubt that he could've, and should've, sparked Larry with a left hook.

this is the part of Larry Merchant I don't like.

You go tell Hakkar that its an embarrassment for him to be fighting for the world title after the years and years of hard work he's put into the sport.

    Hopkins > Larry Merchant.

As for "you got paid for doing not much" well you got paid for talking to a microphone, why don't you switch places with Hopkins and see if you think its not much.

HBO didn't have to air that fight but B-Hop, in his mind, had to defend his title or be striped of it. I respect B-Hop for not allowing Merchant to bully him in that interview.

I'm sure he would, gladly. Hakkar was literally running away the whole "fight". And not in the typical sense of the word, he was actually running and not even trying to box. It was disgraceful and if that was the best he had to offer then he had no business being in there. It was easily the most shameful match I can ever remember HBO broadcasting

Larry is the ****ing man. If I want to hear some guy sucking every fighter's dick he talks to I'll listen to Lampley. Merchant always has and always will tell it like it is.

That's not true at all. If i'm not mistaken, Merchant use to work in Philadelphia for some time as a boxing writer and i think they are friends. If not friend, acquintances. Did you see Hopkin's last few interviews with Merchant, including the Pavlik fight? Hopkins was very friendly to Merchant and vice versa.
