The reason that the Mayweathers say they believe that Manny Pacquiao is a steroid drug cheat is that he has been able to maintain his speed and power as he moves up in weight, ie that he is doing something that is physically astonishing.

Other evidence? None. That's it. And many people on this forum seem to believe this allegation now, based on the same premise.

I put it to those people - should a 46 year old man be able to fight 12 rounds against a 27 year old opponent, be the aggressor for most of the fight, throw more punches, and look as fast and fit as any other lightheavyweight out there?

To me, that is every bit as physically astounding as Pacquiao's achievements. When George Foreman won a world title at 46, he was fat and getting soundly outboxed before his power bailed him out. Hopkins is doing something altogether different, he really is confounding science with what he is managing to do.

He may as well be called a steroid drug cheat as well then, no? Like Pacquiao, the guy has passed every drug test he has ever taken and is a supreme boxer, but if one guy is to be labelled a cheat for doing something which is physically astonishing, shouldn't the other as well? I don't recall Hopkins taking any Olympic-style blood tests up to fightnight, do you?
