There really is no doubt about it. Think about this: Hopkins has now won at least one fight in 22 straight calendar years, dating back to 1990. To put into perspective how impressive that is, you have to go all the way back to the 1980's to find the last year that Hopkins did not win a fight.

During that span, Hopkins went undefeated in 11 straight calendar years, from 1994 to 2004. Hopkins truly dominated the sport in the second half of the 1990's and the first half of the 2000's decade. It is about time Hopkins gets his due!

His body of work at a advance age is remarkable.

If Hopkins gets by Dawson and unifies 175, I'd argue he's done as much quality work as Pacquiao has, given him being far past his peak. Another 2-3 wins over good champions, and he'll pass Roy up, in my books.

With this victory, one can't really argue that he has passed Jones now. But in the 90's no doubt Jones was a better fighter and had the better wins... but now, Hopkins bypassed what Jones did. Even though I do not think SOO highly of the guy he beat, nonetheless, he won the legitimate title and at such an advance age... he's incredible.

Respect to the Master Wizard. And the media should be all over this historical accomplishment. Should be good PR for boxing.

Longevity v heights reached. Jones beat him prime for prime, he lost to Calzaghe, Taylor et cetera.

One of the greatest based on longevity.
