Not making an argument for or against, but what are the facts?

    Tito Trinidad-- prolonged retirement.

Pavlik-- maybe, maybe it was his alcoholism.

Joe Calzaghe-- had one more fight against shot RJJ and retired. So who knows/

Antonio Tarver-- He's at HW now. doing what?

Jermaine Taylor-- done for. But maybe that was Pavlik's doing x 2.

Oscar de La Hoya-- great performance against B-Hop, then never that great or the same.

I think he intimidates a lot of guys in hte ring. Not really sure why considering he's not much of a puncher. I think it's more his personality and appearance.

How would you rather lose? One shot KO'ed, or being picked apart with no escape?

This thread is a bit of a stretch, but certainly Hopkins unnerved Pavlik and brought DLH back to earth. The wins over Hopkins made Taylor more confident, not the opposite. And Calzaghe was set to retire anyway.

He probably has ruined a lot of fighters confidence. The thing about Hopkins is he is extremely good at exposing flaws in fighters, and even if you beat him the chances are you arent going to look good doing so(unless you're RJJ). I reckon you'll see Pascal lose sometime soon because that guy knows what happened to him the other weekend and I reckon it'll affect his confidence, Pavlik was plain to see - B-Hop basically stripped away everything he ever had and Calzaghe, while he might have retired when he did anyway, Hopkins constantly calling for a rematch would have made his decision to call it quits a bit easier to make in my opinion, he didnt want anything to do with Hopkins again.

You forgot about Winky Wright. And you don't have to be able to knock everyone out to destroy someones confidence. Hopkins knows how to get inside a fighters mind and that kills anybodies confidence faster than a punch. The worst torture is mental torture and most people don't get that. Hopkins is all 100% mental and life is much easier when you understand that. Majority people on this planet don't.

Understanding your opponent is crucial to victory, and if you don't, you can't get in anybodies head. And watching fight film doesn't mean you understand your opponent. You gotta know everything about the guy your fighting.

Mentally they are never the same.

Taylor looked like a crap after his fights Hopkins, and his career never went anywhere after. He was totally deluded.

Hopkins broke Calzaghe confidence so much that he decided to fight Jones, who he only recently called a shot fighter in his autobiography. Calzaghe had such small balls and Hopkins diminished them even further.

Check out all of his fights. He destroyed many fighters.

Just look at his opponents reactions in their last few rounds of the fight. Hopkins does things in the ring that are discouraging, mentally.

Carl Daniels wanted to quit, did quit. Those bodyshots took their toll.

Morrade Hakkar wanted to quit, did quit.

Jermain Taylor lost confidence and had **** performances against Wright and Spinks.

    Pavlik wasnt the same

Antwun Echols was continually looking at the ref asking looking for a way out. Watch Echols I and then Echols II, see the drop in confidence.

Glen Johnson never complained being TKO'd, which fighters sometimes do, then goes on to a losing streak.

    Winky Wright disappeared slowly. ODLH...

Antonio Tarver did a large amount of trash talking in the build up to the fight and got humbled.

Calzaghe realised his "0" is in danger if he continues, so took a low risk RJJ and went on cocaine.

    Joe Lipsey never fought again.

Segundo Mercudo went from #1 IBF contender/ top 10 ranked MW to a nobody.

Jean Pascal was happy to get all the time he can get on the stool when Hopkins had to cut some extra wrapping near his glove

:rofl You're delusional. You realise he spends as much time as he can on the stool before every round of every fight?

Pascal looked more ****ed up in that fight than he was in the Froch fight.

matter of fact, thats the most ****ed up pascal I have ever seen in terms of the way he was reacting.

Against Froch he was coming forward trying to trade and slug it out. He was prepared to go to war with Diaconu and Dawson. But Hopkins did things to Pascal that disheartened him.

Those body shots which Hopkins gave Pascal, Pascal looked like he needed to take a **** after the sixth round.

:DThose body shots were very effective, indeed.

But Pascal was also the first to counter and hurt Hopkins that much.

I agree: How about the brutal 12 round beatings he gave Holmes and Joppy. What he did to Holmes forced KH to Jr. Middle. And Joppy is still swollen after his shutout loss to B-Hop.

Robert Allen went on to fight 3 times after his 3rd fight w/ Hop. Opponents combined record 26-71-3 and he fought 2 6 rounders and a 4!

I also believe John David Jackson was shot post Hopkins.

i thought the draw was fair but he is certainly trying to shame Pascal into a rematch.
