I was excited for this fight. I was worried for Hopkins the first few rounds but I know he's just pacing and studying Pascal and the late rounds proved it. Great fight!:thumbsup

And Dawson will be a little trickier but I think he has a very good chance.

It was funny listening to Manny after the fight when Jim asked him who Dawson would be fighting and he started talking about Bute instead of the Guy he just won an eliminator against. It shows you what Manny thinks of that match-up. But to be frankl Dawson is a much more consistent conventional fighter then Bernard. I'm not sure I see him winning that fight. PAscal's physical strength, speed and explosiveness nutralized Chad's technical abilities. BHop will have to find a different way of doing that because clearly he can't do it the same way. I think Bhop pulls out the whole maul and hold routine and I'm not sure if he can win a fight doing that. It'll be another close one I think.

Dawson looked AWFUL against Diaconu. Brutal. He should have blown Diaconu out. I had it 7-5 Dawson in rounds.

He still takes rounds and periods off, looks like he's sleepwalking and can still get caught with power shots, too frequently.

The only question is does Hopkins have the energy. It looks like he does, which means Dawson is heading to another "L" if they fight soon.

Yeah, I'm not saying Hopkins blows him out, but his mauling style and precision punching -- combined with Dawson's lazy style and take-rounds-off approach -- should be enough to let Hopkins win.

Bernard takes charge of his fights. Dawson does the opposite. Bad match-up for Chad, as long as BHop maintains enough energy at this age.

Diaconu is a puncher/counter-puncher. Dawson although could have done more offensively, he still had to be cautious, and there were times Dawson was almost knocked down, none the less he convincingly won against a good solid puncher.

Dawson, at best, is stagnant in his progression. He actually may be regressing.

If you think I'm wrong, listen to Stewart after the rounds. He sounded genuinely worried, not like a guy who's trying to egg his man on (especially when you man is getting got with good shots).

He has the same flaws he has always had. Hopefully for him, Manny corrects those things. The dude has some real, serious flaws. As talented as he is.

It was hilarious. Dawson must have thought Steward was crazy. I mean everytime he saw Diaconu he saw nothing but blood and swelling.

Look I know you're a troll, but Lederman gave Diaconu 4 rounds. And that was generous. No way he won 5. 2-3 is more accurate.

Styles make fights, and Hopkins saw a weakness in Pascal when he fought Dawson and capitalized on it, he knew Pascal's style was taylor made forhim. If Pascal and Dawson fought again, Dawson would win.

I am definitely not a troll.

So, Lederman and I differed by 1 round. That's acceptable.

Dawson is flawed. He's a train wreck waiting to happen, as Pascal showed.
