I think Hopkins is one of those guys that you either really love or really hate. So which is it and why?

    Love him...

B-Hop is one of my favorite fighters of all time. It's been a pleasure following his career and watching as more and more people gave him recognition and respect.

Hopkins is like yin and yang, you can't have one with out the other lol.

I love and hate the guy, but the hate really just adds to the love because its the stuff that makes you hate him that makes you realize how great he was, the guy was sick.

Ahh come on, Hopkins is sort of like Tyson. You either admire/respect the way he does things or can't stand the way he does things.

He's one of my all time favorite athletes, regardless of sport. Love him. He's an excellent example of dedication to his craft, making the most out of a second chance, and beathing the odds and expectations along the way.

I respect BHOP as boxer but I wish that instead of trying to attract me to his fights by being controversial outside the ring he produce more exciting fights like the Tito, G. Johnson fights as a way to generate a fan base. How many BHOP fights can you truly say were entertaining? Only a few. What a shame!

Amazing human being to be operating at the highest level in boxing as a 40 yeal old.

    Love him.

And it's not an easy thing to do. But when he's talking about boxing history or when he supported Larry Hazzard, it is and was pure beauty and sportsmanship.

Also because of his not too watchable, but very awkward and therefore special and unparallel style (and moves he learnt from boxing legends) he's one of the most effective guy in boxing history to spoil your game. And even if he fights ugly, he gave us some great moments to remember: quickest KO ever in a MW title fight, KO of Tito, DLH, KD of Tarver, Calzaghe - so even in unentertainment he's entertaining in moments! :)

He put it in words the best way: "You just never know what's Bernard Hopkins going to do next". He's also very professional, bringing the emotions in the game, a great talker, good in hyping fights and a freaking mind-game specialist.

His life story is just pure WOW! And what is the most stunning about him is that he virtually started his famed career at the age of 36, when he knocked out Trinidad! Since then, he's fought a bunch of P4P-ers and never lost a fight without controversy, and I'm saying this even if I scored the fight in favor of Joe, 116-111.

Hopkins has become one of my favorite fighters with time. At first, I did not appreciate his technical prowess; I do now.

An all-time great and defensive master of fundamentals.

    neither
great fighter turned a to an impossible to fight defencive fighter fomr a boxer-puncher

at 43 and being at the forefront of boxing media is incredible.

taking on calzaghe tarver winky roy jones trinidad oscar johnson taylor is enough to get you alot of merit and a hall entry is almost a complete certainly
then looking more deeper at his middlewieght defences you see guys like echols, joppy, brown, eastman, daniels, holmes, jackson
all winning won or fought for a world title.

first undisputed middlewieght to own 4 belts at one time

BHOP is great no question. The guy is 43 and making JC look very bad in the ring ad offset his strenghts. His record is very good you can not ignor that. JC won by 2 rounds because BHOP did not come to fight. He came with the plan to hit hold headbutt and fake low blows. He let him self down!
