Bernard Hopkins: Me and chad will fight very soon!! That's the only fight for me!!

Great news. There's unfinished business there. Props to Hopkins if he rematches Dawson. He has stated an interest in a Cleverly fight too, which does not interest me a bit.

 

I like the Cleverly fight. Only because it could happen in the UK. :bbb

 

Hopkins is the man.

 

Hopkins might be half way between Chad Dawson and senior citizenship, but he's still willing to fight top opposition. Props to him if they fight again.

 

i dont see Hopkins lasting very much longer. I think the rematch will be Hopkins spoiling and stalling his way to a UD loss and retirement imo

 

I always thought Hopkins was scared of Dawson but a rematch might well dispel my theory (so long as it doesn't end the way the 1st fight did).

I reckon Dawson has his number though. He can't out-technique Dawson like he does to other like Pascal and I'd expect a UD/late TKO for Chad in a rematch.

 

Good for him, though I doubt this fight still takes place.

Besides the fact that this statement can't be regarded as anything but PR and that Hopkins in all likelihood isn't particularly crazy about fighting him again, there's also the fact that I doubt HBO is going to put up much money for it if they do so at all. They owe Hopkins another $1 million regardless; I doubt that they're particularly excited to be paying him that much for a rematch of a fight that did as poorly as expected on PPV, that was shaping up to be as ugly as expected, and that ended in an abrupt, disappointing manner. If the rematch doesn't occur, I hope people recognize the fact that TV networks are not particularly interested in Dawson, especially if he's fighting Hopkins, rather than rushing to the inevitable ducking accusations. Hopkins is not the only one who can keep this fight from happening.

 

I have no problem with a rematch....But please, NO PPV!!!!

Oh great, something to look forward to. Chad Dawson can hardly be bothered to throw a punch , and Hopkins can fake an injury like no one else in history .
Surely after their first heart stopping epic, who can wait for the rematch?
Someone might actually get hit this time!
I hope the pay per view is at least 75.00.

Its a world title fight..Hopkins n Dawson, so how is that an undercard fight? Its not as bad as some make it out to be. And if there's anyone in this fight that is the spoiler its Hopkins! I look forward to it - a conclusion to a saga is always worth seeing.

 

I hope this rematch will be done. There are unfinished business indeed. I'm looking forward to see it.
