Some of you people are outright MAD. Its Hopkins by a good amount in pretty much every category we can use to measure.

There are some good posters picking Toney as well....Im just in shock.

Has to be Nard for me but only just. He has generally fought a better class of opponent than Toney has. Although I think Toney had a little more skill. A very tough choice but I would give it to Hopkins 52-48.

Toney would beat Jermain Taylor, Trinidad and De La Hoya all on the same night!! I have my personal bias towards Toney. But I just gotta say Toney its my opinion. Hopkins has accomplished a lot but to me Toney's career impressed me more.

No, it's his skills that make him a better fighter. But Toney phoned it in a few times, which hurts him on an ATG basis.

Would it change if Hopkins got beat next weekend?
Right now I rank Toney ahead of Calzaghe for glaringly obvious reasons:yep

Not too much in my opinion. Toney should be ahead of Joe Calzaghe on everyone's list.

I too would favor Hopkins H2H, but as far as ranking one over the other in ATG terms.. there's every justification in the world to rank Toney over Hopkins. Sighting that he was given a gift decision over Tiberi doesn't really make Hopkins look all the more better, either. Especially when you consider a fighter like Mercado roughed up and almost beat Hopkins.

Toney fought more consistently tough opposition, beat more tough opposition, and had success in multiple divisions, even having a little success in the HW division when clearly past his prime.

On the other hand I give Hopkins credit seeing as he.. for the most part.. dominated solid opposition at MW for a long time, and eventually became undisputed champion. However, as I said before.. Toney's all around opposition was a level higher than that of Hopkins.

I know. I really like Calzaghe but he's ridiculously overrated by his fanboys.

If H2H was the only thing that we're supposed to rank an ATG by then Jones would rank number one at middleweight AND supermiddleweight.
