P4P I could see a prime Hopkins figuring out and neutralizing a prime Pacquiao.

Pacquiao has more heart and has accomplished more, plus he's not a coward, Pacquiao definitely.

Hopkins benefitted more from weaker opposition at middleweight and handpicking later, where he lost to the better faster guys like Calzaghe and Taylor. Pacman can beat anyone.

Just look at their records and who they beat and you can see who is better.

    Pacquiao.

Was that a prime Hopkins in the first (or the second) Jones fight? Also, Pac and Jones Jr. are not the same type of fighter. A prime Jones had MUCH better defense than a prime Pac.

If we are talking body of work, it's Pacquiao. But, H2H (prime for prime)...Hopkins solves the puzzle, IMO.

    Pacquiao.

Hopkins has always had problems with speed. And despite being technically better, he's not the fighter that Manny is. Calzaghe showed what a good, fast fighter can do to Hopkins.

Pac, for all his athletic gifts, is quite underrated in terms of ring intelligence and technical ability. And he's a better fighter than Calzaghe P4P.

One thing I find funny is how people say Hopkins is more skilled than Floyd but Manny is a better fighter than Hopkins. We're talking about better all around fighter right? How is it not Hopkins then? Im not talking about greatness, im talking about being a better fighter. If it's Manny, what does he do that makes him better? Educate me because I just don't see it.

What's so hard to understand? Being better defensively does not make you a better fighter, neither is being a better counter-puncher.

Pac is better overall, because he can impose his style way better than Hopkins can with his. There are a lot of categories that Manny is better in and those categories makes a huge difference in the outcome of a fight.

Speed kills, and so does power. Pac's footwork is better. His combination punching is unmatched and is much more explosive. Pac is an offensive machine and he's not that easy to hit. He's just better overall.

technical skill is one aspect of boxing. a ****ing important one, but there are others. Speed, power, explosiveness, chin, stamina, workrate, heart, toughness, durability, etc. etc. etc.

Pac is the best fighter of his era.

Hopkins is a great fighter too, just not as good as Pac.

I have mad respect for BHOP, but comon brah
