Yea I was talking that type of territory. Give him an aging Darius instead of Roy and I think he pulls off the W

No, just seen Bivins on film look exceptionally average

What physical abilities was Hopkins missing in the Dawson fight..? I think Hopkins would beat Dawson via UD 12rounds, but it would be a tough fight.

Hopkins was in fitter than Dawson in there last fight, had foot speed and hand speed. There has been no dramatic decrease in his performances over the years from a physical and technical point of few.

Qwawi himself is nowhere near are Top10. I wouldn´t rate him higher than Hill. Conn I agree, as good as he was he sometimes get´s rated too highly. Still a better resume than Dawson.

Sorry but no, just landing clean from time to time is not a shutout.

They all would beat him. You are so overrating that dude.

Here are the reasons for my picks

Hopkins-Loughran - Hopkins has the superior skill set. Loughran has a stiff back and is 1 handed and slower than Hopkins, th

Hopkins-Qawi - Qawi is much shorter so Hopkins can outbox him on the outside and use his clinching and dirty tactics inside

Hopkins-Maxim - I think Maxim isn't in the same class here, he has elite wins but they are pretty controversial or getting a man at the right time

Hopkins-Bivins - really don't rate his skillset too highly, he doesn't use his height/range/jab and doesn't have any stand out qualities on film. Hopkins is just superior

Hopkins-Hill - This would be a technical boxing match and Hill isn't the quickest technician. Style wise it favours Hopkins

Winning every round is a shut out and Dawson did more in most rounds, maybe Hops won 1-3 rounds tops

Oh, you meant Hopkins. Okay, thought you meant Dawson. Still I don´t quite agree with you. Hopkins is not superior to Loughran in terms of skill and he´d be the slower guy there. I´d pick Tommy to win a close one. I agree the Hopkins of the Tarver fight would probably beat Qwawi - also he could outwork Hops - and Maxim. Bivins? Nah, sorry, he´s just too good and Hopkins too much removed from his prime. Clear win for Bivins. Hill was quite fast actually, especially with his feet, I think he´d win a close decision based on his speed advantage.

    :huh

You guys are insane if you think an old Hopkins beats a peak Qawi. Dwight would chase him out of the ring, and I don't mean Robert Allen style.

Dawson is not Calzaghe but they present similar stylistic match ups considering their superior hand speed, stamina, and southpaw stance.

    As for the rest.

    Younger? Dawson 29 Calzaghe 36

    Yes.

Bigger? Dawson 6'1" 76.5" (longtime LHW) Calzaghe 5'11" 73" (first LHW fight)

    Yes.

Crisper? Less fact based but Calzaghe at that stage of his career had busted hands and was more focused on quick volume punching than hard accuracy.

    Most likey.

2/3 of my points are factually correct. The other is well argued. What exactly is "mad" about my post?

Yes there has. He was in tremedous shape, but fighting a fighter like Chad Dawson, you need to have those physical abilities intact. Hopkins doesn't have that anymore and I don't understand why you don't see that. He's an amazing fighter still but definetly not the same Hopkins from the early 2000.

Instead of having 30 pages of rhymes, Hopkins has 30 punches a round and loses a debatable decision

I find it offensive to call a world champion average.

Today's Hopkins loses wide to Loughran and Bivins. The Hopkins that beat Tarver loses narrowly. Hopkins in black and white dominates them both, on the same night if the footage is grainy also.

Hopkins makes Dawson miss a lot, scores a late
Tko. Dawson was troubled by Hopkins' skill
and defense in the actual fight. Total
outclassing in favor of Hopkins imo.
