1. Pascal II (not his best opponent by far, but one has to look at the historical significance) 2. Antonio Tarver (another upset. Nearly everybody had written B-Hop off after his 'losses' to Jermain Taylor, and most were happy about it. B-Hop then proves the boxing world wrong again by clearly beating the best LHW around and making it look easy) 3. Felix Trinidad (huge fight, B-Hop was unjustly considered by the media to be the underdog against a superstar - thus it was an 'upset') 4. Glen Johnson (has anybody ever whooped Glen as bad as Hopkins did?) 5. Kelly Pavlik (Bernard was yet again considered the underdog against a rising, unbeaten, young star, and then he completely shut him out)
for all the posters who mentioned calzaghe as a good win.... Good call. Dont forget that hopkins should be undefeated since the first roy jones jr defeat. Other fighters would have got the decisions, his style and personality with contributing factors to his losses and draw. He won the jermain taylor fight, if he got the decision no second fight would of been made. He won the calzaghe fight busted him up and knocked him down and maybe got a point deduction i cant remember he should of got the win and the first pascal fight he won. He is virtually undefeated after the roy jones loss a true legend.
1. Trinidad 2. Tarver 3. Pascal II 4. Pavlik 5. Johnson I don't care for Hopkins much as a person but his longevity and career-best wins in the ring are very impressive. I still give Jones an edge legacy-wise though. If you look at each fighter's top 20 wins and the way they won those fights, I think Jones outshines Hopkins. Skills-wise, you just can't ignore the way Hopkins has had his limitations showed up by the following four fights: Jones I, Taylor I and II and Calzaghe. I genuinely believe Bernard lost all of those fights fair and square. Jones I he lost by an absolute mile, whereas the Taylor I and II and Calzaghe he lost by a point IMO. Pascal II is a great win for Hopkins but it doesn't eclipse his performances against Tito and Tarver IMO.
