World Professional Heavyweight Karate champion wasn't he? Around the time he made the movie with Bruce Lee?

Hopkins modern but old school class takes him home here. Ruby's pretty tough and Hop is no Hearn's, maybe by decision.

This is one of only two possible results i think, the other of course being Fitz by KO. Given that it's a 15 round contest i'm going to say that Fitz would get him at some point.

Put it this way; i'd be comfortable laying money on a Fitz KO but I could never place money on a Hopkins points win and feel at ease.

To be honest while i appreciate Fitz in his time i don't rate him that highly in ours.

I understand (though don't agree); but you can't think his power is less impressive at 160 for it being 100 years in the future?

Fitz under his ruleset and B-Hop under modern rules. I don't see any stoppages. It's very difficult to compare fighters from Fitz's era compared to today as it's a different sport almost.

Hopkins could well take this one by decision and has the skills to outbox Fitz, he couldn't afford to get too cute, though. If Fitz floors him, he would most likely finish the contest.

Still: Hopkins, by close but clear decision. Not an easy fight. :good

Sure; that's why I always try to pick a ruleset from in between the two eras.

Glove size would be an important factor.

Making another midleweight take body punches from Fitz with 4oz gloves would be cruelty to children.

I think that the 15 round distence combined with an 8oz glove would shift the situation enough in Hopkin's backyard for him to manage a UD.

Non-contact or touch-contact middleweight championship, I believe...but they often hit each other full force anyway, so it doesn't matter. He had two years as the #1 guy on the point circuit.

Also did grappling with Gene Lebell, so he's definitely a legitimate fighter. Nevertheless, Fitz would mash him.

I concur with you. The power of the mighty Fitz cannot be discounted and if he lands, Hopkins would get rattled, but I'd go with him anyway.

I like Hopkins by decision but I can see him getting spooked by Fitz s hardest shot s.
Maybe a frustrating one for Ruby Rob.
