Yes, Hopkins can throw 40 more punches a round (than he did in the first fight) and come coasting across the finish line 36 minutes later.

 

It's possible, but I still don't see Hopkins beating Calzaghe, especially if the fight would be in Wales the second time around. Hopefully Calzaghe decides to fight Dawson before he retires for good.

 

And I say I'll believe it when I see it. He couldn't do it in the rematch against Taylor and I think he'll have the same trouble trying to do it against Calzaghe -- who is a superior boxer and smarter fighter than Taylor.

They were used by Calzaghe. He did beat Hopkins -- and 45 other fighters.

Hopkins vs Calzaghe 2 would be good even though the first fight was boring but it was close.I think Hopkins had the more effective punches but Calzaghe won on punch volume and work rate.I think Hopkins style is all wrong for Calzaghe honestly and that's coming for a Calzaghe fan.I think if Bernard don't play it safe and comes out a little bit aggressive and start throwing more then one punch at a time i think he can pull it off.One thing i know is that your never gonna look good against Bernard and Bernard is the master of putting a game plan together to defeat an opponent !!! at 43yrs and still fighting that's just crazy.

 

Again, we're talking about a situation where you don't just switch your style and that's that. If this were golf you could say that. But unlike golf, boxing features an opponent who's gonna do everything he can to stop your from executing your plan. To put it simply: With Joe throwing so many punches from so many angles (which he's always done) how will Hopkins manage to execute that more aggressive style?

 

He didn't beat Hop with skills though. He "beat him" with girl punches and the flailing attack of a ******. To top it all off not even that shitpile of punches managed to even actually land. To top it all of he didn't even actually beat him. Fair play to you, however.

You say Calzaghe's skilled, undefeated, ect. I just see a very dedicated winner. That's all he is. He'll throw his 'art' in the toilet at a moments notice to keep hold of his precious win. To good effect.

 

Anybody who throws girl punches shouldn't be 46-0. And what does that say about Bernard if he can't overcome girl punches?

I agree that Calzaghe is a very dedicated winner. But you need more than dedication to remain a winner. You need skills, conditioning, power and more.

And sure...Calzaghe will throw his art into the toilet to hang onto his precious win. Good for him. Better to be a winner than an artist, no?

Right, we have a completely different point of view. That's all that can really be said. There is a hint of hypocrisy in what Joe does though, because he himself doesn't like to be singled out for his technique. He's conflicted I guess.. It ain't all good.
